The aim of this work is to obtain some characteristics of the poetry of Philip Larkin, such us the origin of his themes, the way in which he writes his poems and the symbolism he uses (which is a very controversial topic because some assume that he does use it, while some others say that he uses it in an ironic way). In this work we tried to make a revision on the vision of Larkin through the studies that had been made on him, and on the basis of it we can say, that the voice of Larkin still clearly contemporary today. He is, in addition, acid, disagreeable, unpleasant, and we can catalogue these characteristics like the most appreciated by its followers. Larkin gives us through his poetry, a vision of middle-aged conservative, that in a politically incorrect way in our days, does not stand children, detests the life in family, he does not believe in anything and he does not wait anything of the life. Adam Gontier is the lead singer, guitarist, and the main songwriter of Groundswell, what was later renamed and is now known as Three Days Grace. The album has several popular singles such as "In My Place", "Clocks", and the ballad "The Scientist." It also won the Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album at the 2003 Grammy Awards. This is my favourite CD, because you forget everything that surrounds you while you listen to it. Chris martin has a powerful voice and the overall sound is flawless. The songs contain lush melodies and they are really relaxing. The band's music is also meditative and it reflects on their emotions. The lyrics of their songs are very thought-provoking and the most important thing is that they are meaningful. You start to think differently when you have delved into them. I strongly recommend this CD and this band to everyone who wants to relax and enjoy good music. This band is really worth listening to.
Benefits of the EU The European Union was formed after the Second World War, because some political leaders believed that it was the only way to avoid conflicts in the future. There are many benefits in the EU, for example the EU has allowed citizen of the European Union to travel freely around Europe and millions EU citizens have moved to other EU country to work or to study. The EU has also given European countries a voice in world affairs. Smaller countries like Estonia and Latvia now can also get a word in world affairs, they are heard. Another advantage of the EU is that the EU has a strong common currency Euro. It makes travelling easier and also cheaper, because you can go on holiday and not have to worry about exchange money, therefore avoid high exchange charges. There is also peace amongst nations. The EU has managed to avoid conflicts and war and it makes smaller countries feel safe
