Dead until dark

It talks about a telephatic waitress, Sookie Stackhouse, from a small town Bon Temps. She lives with her grandmother Adele and she has an older brother Jason. She meets a vampire, Bill Compton. In this world vampires are a reality. They have also invented synthetic blood, which makes it unnecessary to feed on humans. And vampire blood is an addictive and illegal drug. Sookie falls in love with Bill. A lot of murders occur in Bon Temps. Bill and her brother are main suspects at some point because the bodies have fang marks and Jason is suspected because he had a relationship with two of the victims. Sookie tries to help both of them and she starts searching for information about who might have been the murderer. Her grandmother is also killed and she has to start living alone. Most of the times she's at work (Merlotte's bar and grill) and at nights she's with Bill. At the end Sookie discovers that the murderer is Rene Lenier. He's her fr...

Monologue

Some people say that children should be given a chance to solve their problems on their own. Some people say that parents should make all their children’s decisions until the children are 18. By the law of our country, parents have the right to make important decisions about their children's lives. Parental obligations end when a child reaches the age of majority, which is 18 years old. Until that, parents are free to make all decisions relating to the welfare of their child as they see fit. Because of that law, some people say that parents should make all their children’s decisions until the children are 18. However, other people say that children should be given a chance to solve their problems on their own. There are parents who prefer to make all decisions for their kids. Some of them do it because they are afraid to see their child suffering through

Life in Estonia through the eyes of an economics student

Life in Estonia through the eyes of an economics student I have been studying economics for a few months now and I would not say that my point of view on life in Estonia has changed. There are some things I recently started to look on differently but I am not sure is it because of TUT or not. Through my entire life I have seen Estonia as a strong and fast growing country which is also a fact because Estonian economy was one of the fastest growing in the world until 2006 with growth rates even exceeding 10% annually. I find it being quite impressive. There are some fields which Estonia can fill with supplies by itself. We are nearly energy independent country, supplying over 90% of our electricity need with locally mined oil shale. Estonia has also an alternative energy sources such as wood and peat. I could call myself earth friendly because I love walking around the forest and breading some fresh air but I do

Our school Põltsamaa Co-education Gymnasium was founded on 17. December of 1917. Põltsamaa Co-education Gymnasium celebrate school anniversary festively every year. That schoolhouse, where we study now, was built on 1967 and it was renovated on 2009. Head of school is Aimar Arula. There are studying 841 students in 37 classes. We have 4 terms September 1. until October 24., November 2. until December 24., January 11. until March 20. and March 29. until June 5. We get reports every end of the terms. We don't have school uniform, we're allowed to wear, what we want. School lunches are 20 minutes long. Food isn't and don't taste very well. That, when you can go to eat, depends on which number of class you are. In our school are sport days about three times per year Autumn, Winter and Spring. We have competitions between different classes and we have special team with teachers. School parties are about twice a month, but they aren't very cool

Stretches and exercises in office

Don't hold your breath while you're stretching. How often to stretch is up to you. As a general rule, stretch whenever you exercise. If you don't exercise regularly, you might want to stretch at least three times a week to maintain flexibility. If you have a problem area, such as tightness in the back of your leg, you might want to stretch every day or even twice a day. Stretching the Hands & Forearms You may not even realize how tight your forearms can get from typing until you stretch them out. This simple moves helps stretch those muscles in the forearms and wrists. 1. a) Start with your hand open. b) Make a fist. the things what makes us happy. There are a lot of people who do things what they don’t like. They owe a theirselves a change in direction, according me. Everyday I say the school is a bad place, it is a waste of time and etc. But that cursing means that I need a change in my point of view. It will never be easy to change my point of view but that is the pain what is always around us. The pain brings me always down but I will always get up until I get the right choice and I won’t feel any pain anymore. I always have a choice whenever I do something. I always have a choice to give up or keep on going. I may choose the wrong way or the right way but either way I get to feel the pain. But I do not want to feel the pain! So I choose to keep myself motivated and try every possible way until the pain stops and the positive vibes kick in. I will not surrender until I meet my grave!

Spanish California Sten Endrik Mihkelsoo MM-14 California's contact with Europeans began in the mid 1530s when Cortez's men ventured to Baja California. Not until 1542 did Spaniards sail north to Alta California, and Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo's expedition of that year made landings as far north as modern Santa Barbara. The Spaniards, of course, were hardly the first to discover this land of wonder and extremes. The earliest Californians were adventurous Asians who made their way across the Bering Straits to Alaska thousands of years ago when a warmer climate and a now-vanished land bridge made such travel easier

Meeting the wolf

Meeting the wolf Many years ago on Sunday a young girl walked on a lonely road. The sun was shining and light clouds were in the sky. She was on her way home. Suddenly the sun disappeared and dark clouds appeared in the sky. She felt a little scared but didn't pay much attention on it. Before she could find any place to hide, it started raining. The weather was getting worse and worse until there were an awful thunderstorm. The girl had nowhere to go, she was frightened and started crying. She heard something moving in the bushes which scared her even more. She tried to be quiet and see what was in the bushes but she didn't see anything. As soon as she took a deep breath, the wolf jumped out of the bushes. He sniffed around and then started to move towards the girl. She started screaming and the wolf started howling.

But all that said, there is something about books, if a book is truly interesting, then something just forces you to read it, you read a page and you just have to know what comes next, what is going to happen, how will the story end. Page after page after page, until eventually without notice, you have finished the book. I think that reading can be a very enjoyable activity, but some people just do not want to read, there can be many different reasons why they do not want to read, although I personally think that the main reasons can be lack of free time or being forced to read, which makes it very difficult to pick up a book. Together with the site of the would-be palace, a summer estate and a 17th-century cottage that had belonged to town councillor von Drenteln were purchased for the emperor's use in 1713. The small cottage was enlarged with a wing and the outcome was a building with a hall, a kitchen and four rooms. The small summer residence was in use until the emperor's death. The succeeding rulers used the Palace of Kadriorg that had been completed only after Peter's death and the small building was neglected. The building was restored at the order of Emperor Alexander I after he visited Tallinn in 1804. The wing, however, was not. The kitchen was reconstructed and a dining room was built above it on the first floor that had not existed before. Since then the building has been maintained all the time and today it is the only

the wild, polar bears live an average of 15 to 18 years, although biologists have tagged a few bears who are 30 years old. One zoo bear in London lived to 41. Female polar bears have their first set of cubs between the ages of four and eight (most frequently at age five or six). At birth, the cubs are 30 to 35 centimeters long and weigh little more than half a kilogram. They are blind, toothless, and covered with short, soft fur. The cubs are born in November or December and remain in the den until March or April. During that time, the mother does not eat, drink, or defecate. There are usually two cubs in a litter. Polar bears cubs normally stay with their mother until they are 2 1/2 years old. Polar bears do not hibernate!

(cut from 1 to 2) On top of this hill was a little hut. (cut from 2 to 3 to 4) And in this little hut was a little old man who lived there all alone. One December night, the little old man saw a shooting star in the sky. (cut from 4 to 5 to 6) "Oh, how wonderful it would be to have a star for company," said the little old man. "I will catch one!" The next morning the little old man climbed the mountain nearby. (cut from 6 to 7) He waited at the top until the sun went down, the moon came up and the stars appeared in the sky. Then he reached up and up and up, but he couldn't catch a star. "Oh, how wonderful it would be to have a star for company," said the little old man. He fell asleep feeling rather sad. The next morning the little old man noticed that there was a taller mountain beside the one he was on. He climbed down into the valley and up the next mountain. (cut from 7 to 8

Manners in Estonia

Hierarchy in Estonian Society Estonia is a hierarchical society. Age, experience and position earn respect. Older people are generally viewed as wiser and as a result revered and honoured. Elders are introduced first and in general are treated much like royalty. Those in senior positions bear the responsibility to make decisions in the interest of the group. Due to seniority titles are very important when addressing people. It is expected that you will use a person's title and their surname until invited to use their first name. Cultural Traditions Estonian culture as an identity is very strong. Oral traditions especially have played a key role in preserving traditions, stories and customs during Soviet administration. Singing is a very Estonian activity and the Estonians are known to have sung their way to freedom during the "Singing Revolution" of 1989-91. Manners Estonians on the whole are quiet and reserved. They tend to speak softly and do not like to draw attention to themselves

Artemis Fowl 5,6 chapteri kokkuvõte

Foaly and Root go back to the camera feed and go through it slowly, seeing in slow motion a hypodermic dart fly through the air. They realize that Holly is missing in action, probably dead. They had a locator which had a very strong signal moving to north. They had blueprints. Blueprints helped to see what´s inside the ship. Artemis hid Holly´s locator into ship. Root didn´t know that and followed signal. The ship was like a trap. Root searched the ship until he found a room. In that room, there was Artemis. Artemis talked to Root through speakers and told that he is Artemis the second and he is very dangerous and everybody should keep away from him. In the corner of that room was a bomb. Root escaped to base.

permanent settlers behind, but after Champlain's trip , in 1604 the French founded the first permanent settlement in what is now Canada. The first city founded by the french was Quebec. New France was generally the name given to the french colonies of Canada and Acadia. British settlements appeared along the Atlantic coast. As the colonies grew, a struggle for control over North America started between England and France. For almost a century Canada was caught up in the struggle for power, until in 1763 England finally gained control over almost all of Canada. Gradually the British started to move westward and new provinces and territories appeared. During this settlement process the native Canadians were treated with more respect than the natives of the USA. Canada's real birthdate is July 1, 1867 when the British created the Dominion of Canada under British rule. In 1931 Canada peacefully broke away from direct British rule

climate. The Estonians are a Finnic people closely related to the Finns, with the Estonian language sharing many similarities to Finnish. The modern name of Estonia is thought to originate from the Roman historian Tacitus, who in his book Germania (ca. AD 98) described a people called the Aestii. Similarly, ancient Scandinavian sagas refer to a land called Eistland, close to the German term Estland for the country. Early Latin and other ancient versions of the name are Estia and Hestia. Until the late 1930s, the name was often written as Esthonia in most English speaking countries. Estonia is a democratic parliamentary republic and is divided into fifteen counties. The capital and largest city is Tallinn. With a population of only 1.4 million, it is one of the least-populous members of the European Union. Estonia was a member of the League of Nations from 22 September 1921, has been a member of the United Nations since 17 September 1991, of the European Union since 1 May 2004

Estonia

Undisturbed by man and protected from most smaller predators by the sea, they are real nesting sanctuaries for a diversity of birds. The first inhabitants came to the area that now forms present-day Estonia some 11 000 years ago. Estonians were one of the last pagan people in Europe. Estonia was incorporated into Christendom at the beginning of the 13th century, under the pressure of crusaders from Denmark and Northern Germany. Estonians were reduced to the status of peasantry until the 19th century. From 1558 onwards, Estonia became the battleground for the Livonian War involving Denmark, Sweden, Russia and Poland. Sweden emerged as the winner and Estonia remained under its influence until the beginning of the 18th century. During Swedish rule, the first university in Estonia was founded at Tartu in 1632. Tartu University is still widely considered the most important university in Estonia. The period is still often remembered by Estonians as "the Good old Swedish time".
