Party

Party Sten Pääro Form 8c Tallinn School No.21 Last year I went to a party. It was the best birthday party I have ever been to. The party was in Tallinn and it was in my friend's house. It started at five o'clock. I went there alone. I wore blue jeans, a shirt and a sweater. A gift to the host was a homemade cake and a gift certificate. The house was full of beautiful decorations and balloons. The kitchen was full of food. There were a lot of sandwiches, chips, cakes, pies and candies and also a lot of drinks. My favorite drink was a strawberry smoothie. I also liked Fanta. I liked the music because it was very relaxing. I played

Strategies of creating a dominant party – the case of UR

University of Tartu Faculty of Social Sciences and Education Institute of Government and Politics Marie Allikmaa The strategies of creating a dominant party the case of United Russia Tartu 2011 After the collapse of USSR in 1991, many observers expected Russia to develop into a competitive party system. Yet, the reality quickly challenged this view. The developments of party politics in post-Soviet Russia have accurately been described in terms of a pendulum effect, as in the 2000s, Russia's party system did finally begin to take for, but with a remarkable twist. Following the break of one-party rule, Russia's party system became strongly fragmented - during the 1995 parliamentary elections, 43 parties competed for popular votes (McFault 1996: 90)

Political parties in the US

Today, the United States has two major political parties. One is the Democratic party, which evolved out of Thomas Jefferson's party. The other is the Republican party, which was formed by people in the states of the North and West, such as Abraham Lincoln, who wanted the government to prevent the expansion of slavery into new states then being admitted to the union. Most Americans today consider the Democratic party the more liberal party. Democrats believe the federal government and the state governments should be active in providing social and economic programs for those who need them, such as the poor, the unemployed or students who need money to go to college. Republicans are not necessarily opposed to such programs. They believe, however, that many social programs are too costly to the taxpayers and that when taxes are raised to pay for such programs, everyone is hurt. They often accuse

German Federal Election, 2009

German federal election, 2009 On the 27th of December, germans went to the polls in parliamentary elections. It was a vote that would decide the shape of the German parliament. The opinion polls before the elections suggested that Angelina Merkel would keep the top job and she did. The Christian Democrats won with 33% of the votes. The Christian Democratic Union, the Christian Social Union of Bavaria, and the Free Democratic Party have announced their intention to form a centre-right government with Angela Merkel continuing as the Chancellor. It is said that Angelina Merkel is the biggest poker face in German politics. In her four years as chancellor she has outmanouvered her opponents and become the country's most popular politician and as the German economy is recovering from recession, the people see her as a safe pair of hands. With Angela Merkel as popular as she is, you might think that the result is a for gone

Policy of 2016

but we do know, that people are afraid of his promises and they are fighting against it. I hope that people would not give up for their hopefulness and they would not let him control their lives. Since 23rd November 2016, there is new government in Estonia, that is being led by Prime Minister Jüri Ratas. The government consists of the prime minister and 14 ministers. Before the change, there was an enormous crisis in the main Party, Reform Party. They were arguing a lot and the previous leader Taavi Rõivas did not control the Party and also he could not control the government. That is the reason why Taavi Rõivas was forced to resign from the government and he stepped down as the chairman of the party. The new government left the Reform Party opposition of coalition. The new government turned new page, but ministers are quite the same and there has always been lying in the government.

English Parliament and Elections

There are offices, committee rooms, restaurants, bars, libraries and even some places of residence. Two large rooms: The House of Lords meet in one and the House of Commons in the other. The British Parliament is divided into two houses, but the House of Commons is obviously more important and only they are considered to be the MPs. In the House of Commons there are just two rows of benches facing each other. On the left sit the members of the governing party and on the right sit the opposition. The Speaker sits between them and controls the action. The arrangement of the benches encourages confrontation between the government and the opposition. There is no place for somebody who isn't neither in the opposition nor in the government side. Usually peeps like this sit in the opposition furthest from the Speaker. || There are no tables for the MPs. They also have no obvious place to address each other from. They can walk in and out during the debates

Theodore Roosevelt

Theodore Roosevelt Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt (October 27, 1858 January 6, 1919;) was the 26th President of the United States. He is well remembered for his energetic personality, range of interests and achievements, leadership of the Progressive Movement, model of masculinity, and his "cowboy" image. He was a leader of the Republican Party and founder of the short-lived Progressive ("Bull Moose") Party of 1912. Before becoming President (19011909) he held offices at the municipal, state, and federal level of government. Roosevelt's achievements as a naturalist, explorer, hunter, author, and soldier are as much a part of his fame as any office he held as a politician. Born to a wealthy family, Roosevelt was an unhealthy child suffering from asthma who stayed at home studying natural history. In response to his physical weakness, he embraced a strenuous life

February 25th, 2009 Dear Sir or Madam, I write to you to complain about the quality of Westhope catering service. I saw your advertisement in my local newspaper and booked the service for my 21 st birthday party with high hopes. Unfortunately I was terribly disappointed. Firstly, a huge variety of dishes is promised in your advertisement. To my surprise when I asked about some, I was told that many of them were not available. The second thing that was below standards was delivery. I do not believe that prompt delivery means food arriving late. When the food finally arrived, it was cold! Another problem was your staff. The waiters were simply rude to my guests! I was embarrassed especially because I had told my guests to expect a friendly service. As if all this was not enough, I was overcharged on the final bill. Lessons for the future

educational structure. I find that Estonian schools should pay more attention to teaching our children current state in our political landscape. Kids, who go to school, are our future and soon-to-be full- right voters in national elections. They will become old and independent enough to be a part of deciding process over their country's future. So, it is very important that they would know which political party stands for what beliefs and who are the politicians in Estonia who are leading our country. Youth, especially youngsters aged 15-18 should know or find out what is their political affiliation. Politics, elections, new laws, different kinds of reforms are constant part of our lives and that is why it is vital for also young people to be well-educated about those subjects. At present, the youngsters spend most of their free time staring at computer

"The case for socialism"

political minority could long stand in the way of the united and informed imagination of a free nation. A Better Society Socialism and the British Tradition Author believe most profoundly that we can remedy economic and social inequality, our vandalism and our unimaginativeness. We can extend the help that we give to one another until we have built, unwrittingly, a better society. The most fruitful central idea for future is to be found in the main doctrine of the British Labour Party. Author is convinced that the faith of the Party in a moderate and democratic form of Socialism is a natural outcome of our slowly growing faith in human liberty, equality and brotherhood and represents the next step in our social emancipation. The main evil from which we suffer and the main barrier to social progress is the disgraceful inequality in the distribution of income and property that we still tolerate. We can only

Russia Throughout the History

Russian empire became more industrialized and the political system stronger and stronger. The country increased its areas. The government was extremely conservative. By the 20th century people noticed that a czar is not the best choice any more. The next ruler Nicholas started to make some changes in the country ( " H i s t o r y a n d c u l t u r e , " ) . These changes brought together the working class which gave a start to the Social Democratic party. In 1905 Nicholas was forces to accept with the new reforms. Later the Social Democratic party split into two groups- the radical Bolsheviks and the comparatively moderate Menshiviks ( " R u s s i a n s o c i a l d e m o c r a t s , " ) . What i value most in a friend

Her name is Anna. We started to get along very well and we did everything together. I think people make friends because they need someone to talk to and a friend who can play with. I have a lot in common with my friend Merit. We do a lot of thing together.Like..go shopping and study together. Also we like to watch comedy movies. And in summer we always go beach together to sunbathe and swim. She is very trusty, friendly and funny. Both of us enjoy dancing. We use to visit clubs very often and party there. We also have differences, like everybody does. Merit doesn't like hip-hop music, I absolutely love it. In some ways we are very different. We have different activitis and lifestyles. My friend lives with her parents at home, but I live with my boyfriend. Some of my friends party a lot, however I stay at home most of my time. Firstly a good friend is someone who is honest! Friends should never lie to each other and stick together.

People these days are thinking less and drinking more

alcohol. Firstly, we have to teach them that thinking clearly is more effective than thinking with an alcohol bottle. Secondly, we should tell them that they have got supportive friends whom they can rely on. Another suggestion is that the media should not promote drinking. Commercials are very effective with teenagers because commercials are very colourful and memorable. Also, when teenagers see some beautiful advertisement with lots of people who are having a party with drinks they want to be like them. What is more, these commercials teach them that a party is more fun with different alcoholic drinks. Finally, different clubs and pubs security guards should ask more effectively for documents to prove the age of the visitors. Too many teenagers are visiting clubs because they can get in easily. When security guards ask for documents then youngsters are not able to get any alcohol because shops are also closed by the time.

Netherlands

British against the French, the economic and political power of the Netherlands began to decline. Eventually the Dutch Republic was overshadowed by the expanding power of Great Britain on the sea and France on the land. (3) When William III died without heirs in 1702, a distant relative of his, John William Friso, successfully claimed the Orange title. In 1747 his son became stadtholder in all seven provinces as William IV. (3) In the late 18th century a struggle broke out between the party of the house of Orange, which had become conservative, and the Patriot Party, which desired democratic reforms. The Orange Party enjoyed a brief triumph with the help of an invading Prussian army in 1787, but in 1795 French troops and a force consisting of self-exiled Dutch citizens replaced the republic of the seven United Provinces with the Batavian Republic, which was modeled on the revolutionary French Republic.
