Epic (ingl. k eepos)

EPIC ,,A long narrative poem on a great and serious subject, related in an elevated style, and centered on a heroic or quasi-divine figure on whose actions depends the fate of a tribe, a nation, or the human race. The traditional epics were shaped by a literary artist from historical and legendary materials which had developed in the oral traditions of his nation during a period of expansion and warfare" An epic is a lengthy narrative poem, ordinarily concerning a serious subject containing details of heroic deeds and events significant to a culture or nation. Nonetheless, epics have been written down at least since the works of Virgil, Dante Alighieri, and John Milton. Many probably would not have survived if not written down. The first epics are known as primary, or original, epics. One such epic is the Old English story Beowulf. Epic Conventions, or characteristics common to both type...

What is needed for good society

What is needed for good society Good society needs three things. These things are: rudimentary democratic consent, universal access to human essentials and accessibility to other desirable items. If these aspects are not fulfilled; it is not a good society. In my opinion, good society is not the thing what suits for everybody, because if you will not agree with good society standards, you really are not the person who would be advantageous for this kind of society. Person who is not accepting these standards is communist and only fits in to the dictatorship supportive countries. For being appropriate member for food society you have to accept other people needs and at the same time sacrifice some of your own needs. Good society is not a paradise. Universal access to human essentials means that everyone have the rights to access elementary things for living, such as: air, water, food, protection from harsh...

Most needed professions in estonia in 21st century

All people in our society have a role. All adults should have jobs. That means that they need to choose a profession. Some professions are more needed in our society than others. Nowadays in Estonia we need mostly newer professions, connected with computers and things like that, bust also some older professions... The most needed profession is builders. The cities grow and new buildings are being razed. When you walk in the streets then you can see everywhere that some buildings are being repaired, or some older ones are being demolished to make space for newer and bigger buildings. Some old houses are being restored like they used to be in the past. In the Centrum new and modish glass buildings are being constructed. That gives the builders and all the people connected with construction and building jobs

The most needed jobs in 21-st century

The most needed jobs in the 21st century Our world is growing bigger every day. Different kinds of people have different needs. There are some people who lead them on the right way to do something right. There's a need of a disaster and emergency management consultants, a leisure consultants and a global mobility specialists. What jobs they actually are? The main task of a disaster and emergency management consultant is writing exercises about chemicals, radiation, plane crashes, and terrorism. Companies order a consultant to their offices and then consultants make them clear about it. How to react in different situations, what to do with toxic substances etc. It's a bit like creating a film. Of course disaster and emergency management consultants can fly around the world lot. More free time and greater leisure options at home and out are responsible in part for the growing importance of that job. The ne...

Most needed professions in 21st century in Estonia

21st century century when the world around us changes faster than ever before. With that accompanies different changes in our everyday lives. Nowadays there is growing demand in highly qualified workers and not only in big empires but also in smaller countries like Estonia. In Estonia the most needed professions are connected with computers, different hi-tech machines and healthcare. Firstly, in my opinion the biggest deficit is in doctors. The main reason for that might be that the studies take a lot of time, sometimes about 10 years, which means that we can start working at the age of 28 to 30. Another reason could be that doctors are in my opinion very often underpaid and with that comes up another problem. In hope to get bigger salaries they often go abroad leaving our

In my opinion the second most needed profession is a really good goverment employee. Estonians want some changes in their lives. Our goverment employees only think about earning more money. The third most needed professions is actually needed the most, it's connected with computers, as I first mentioned. If you want to study a specialty or aquire a high school you need teachers who will guide and teach. The third most needed profession is builders. Wonders of the modern world

Essay Wonders of the modern world Wonders are different. I am sure that today's world wonders are not the same that they were years ago. World has gone on and so the same way is with wonders. In my opinion, the most needed wonder is Internet. It has developed quite quickly. Most of young people can not live without it. Youth can communicate each other and they can also find some necessary information. There are also some elderly people who need the Internet. Usually they use it to do work, but older people also use it to communicate with other people like friends or colleague. Some elderly people may use the Internet even more than some youth. I guess that next wonder can be mobile phone

Variety of Products The supermarket has thousands of different product to choose from which are divided to different sections. There are many different counters, such as a meat counter, a bakery and a cosmetics counter. On the downside, there isn't a wide choice of brands. Convenience All the shelves have been placed to be convenient for the customers. It is easy to find what one needs. Moreover, all the shopping can be done in one place as they have all the needed products. Although the products satisfy the customers, parking spaces are hard to find. Also, the supermarket is a long way from the town centre. Conclusion In conclusion, i would say that the local supermarket satisfies many requirements. The prices are low and they have most of the products needed. The parking lot and the variety of brands, however, could be improved.

Living in the countryside – a pleasant experience or a never-ending hardship?

Living in the countryside a pleasant experience or a never-ending hardship? Living in the countryside might be challenging for a modern human being, but it definitely has benefits for both mind and body. Countryside living spaces are usually less polluted, the pace of life is slower and people are more in touch with nature. Still, there is less entertainment than in cities, distances are longer and it can take much more time to get medical help if needed. Moving from city to country has been the traditional path for those in their 30s and 40s, particularly if children are involved. Nowadays flat rates in cities can be more expensive than living in a house in the countryside. Therefore, living in the countryside can be more affordable. In addition, the countryside is generally quiet and peaceful without the toxic polluted water and air. Some people prefer to live in the country for ecological reasons. For example, eating home-

Also she's responsible for filling annual reports, They have to maintain the company's register of members, deal with questions of the shareholders and transfer of share- holding. In my opinion a great Secretary is who is really needed, their absence is noticed and without them it is difficult too manage the company. Secretary is the main information source, she should know everything what takes place in the company. In conclusion I think Secretary's role in business is becoming more important. After all, Secretary is the face of the company. Institutions reputation depends mostly on how well Secretary does her work. Puritanism in John Winthrop "A model of Christian Charity"

”(Winthrop, 1996) Also, this can be looked as the love of the community and the attempt of bringing the society more closer to each other. Individuals are as one part of a body, serving God and having love as following:”his love among Christians is a real thing, not imaginary. Secondly: This love is as absolutely necessary to the being of the body of Christ, as the sinews and other ligaments of a natural body are to the being of that body.” (Winthrop, 1996) This kind of spiritual love needed to result in the great influence on the world in the positive manner where community’s needs are the priority and the individual’s desires are in the background. Thus, Winthrop believed that God would bless a nation that lived in obedience to Him and His covenant, likewise God acted with Israel in the Old Testament. This previous principle was highly honored among the Puritans – they believed that every nation had to fulfill the covenant, otherwise they will fall

theoretical background that might inform richer, better developed statements about the future. The relative absence of academic attention to the future may stem from several causes. Neglect of the future may also arise as a byproduct of a newly strengthened focus on spatial analysis. Space and time are two essential dimensions for describing the world, but it is difficult to focus on both at once. As opposed to the needed focus on time, recent developments in urban theory have emphasized spatiality, contributing significant new discoveries about the importance of spatial context for regional development. Simultaneously, the rise of a new technical mode of data analysis and display, geographic information systems (GIS), has intensified emphasis on spatial patterns at fixed points in time. We all have felt good about donating something.

We all have felt good about donating something. It gives us inner peace, satisfaction, and an overall benevolent feeling. Donating money, clothes or "yourself" by volunteering does not require us to do the impossible we do that which is quite possible. A few weeks ago, I went through my friend's wallet and found an organ donor card. It really made me think. Would I be willing to donate an organ to help someone or to receive an organ from someone I do not know if I needed it? This whole idea makes me stop and think. Health issues are very common nowadays and luckily, medical science has advanced so much that nearly everything is curable. In addition to good medical science, organ transplants have improved too. You can replace almost everything from your body. But when all of these great advances come down to a personal decision, it gets difficult. I respect donors a lot, but I wish I knew what inspired them to do so

The ships were small and they were needed in great numbers to carry all the cargoes. Hundreds of then were wrecked off the coasts of the British Isles.

For me, marriage is a very important event it makes people care about each other more and understand each other better. I have thought about it to marry in distant future. But before is needed to finish the school. It is not enough, because be some time before that to live together. Must also find a good and rewarding job, because weddings arevery expensive at this time. But if two peoples want to get married then money is not an obstacle. My favourite trip: trip through bog

My trip through bog Me, my dad and my cousins traditionally go hiking every summer. Last summer we decided to go through bogs of Lavassaare. As it was going to be a week-long tramp, we considered our equipment carefully. We made list of everything we needed and then crossed out all that wasn't absolutely nesseccery. We couldn't have better timing: it was clear and warm all week long and it was exact time for wild strawberries and blueberries. We enjoyed the nature and especially the bog lakes. We spent six days in bog and travelled 55 kilometers with this time. This may seem as a short distance, but in bog, where your every step sinks and bog lakes lie exacly on your way, it is pretty long.

Total station problems

angles can be measured in their proper planes). Earlier total stations had bubble tubes for levelling, later ones use automatic compensators. A surveyor roughly levels the total station using its leveling screws (three of them), then the magnitude of any leveling errors present are received by the instrument’s microprocessor, which will make appropriate corrections to the values of the measured horizontal and vertical angles. At first it is needed to firmly set up the tripod (as horizontal as possible with the eye), then it is needed to secure the total station on the tripod with a centering screw. Then it is convenient to use plumb bobs for approximate centering before using the plummets. Probably is necessary to move the tripod a little in the centering process. When the instrument is roughly centered then starts the fine centering with the optical plummet. The instrument must be levelled for the

Roman invasion

Roman general Julius Caesar. 2) They came to Britain looking for riches - land, slaves, and most of all, iron, lead, zinc, copper, silver and gold. How long did the Romans stay in Britain? The Romans remained in Britain from 43 AD to 410 AD. That is almost four hundred years (four centuries). Why did the Romans leave Britain? Their homes in Italy were being attacked by fierce tribes and every soldier was needed. The River Thames was quick way to transport goods between Britain and the Continent. The Romans saw this and built the town of Londinium around the river's main crossing point. The Romans gave britain: Language The language we used today was developed from the Romans. It was started by Julius Caesar, a Roman ruler. It is

Overfishing

gone.  In the real world all this comes down to two serious problems.  We are losing species as well as entire ecosystems. As a result the overall ecological unity of our oceans are under stress and at risk of collapse.  We are in risk of losing a valuable food source many depend upon for social, economical or dietary reasons. FISHING DOWN THE FOOD WEB: It's not only the fish that is affected by fishing. As we are fishing down the food web the increasing effort needed to catch something of commercial value marine mammals, sharks, sea birds, and non commercially viable (vajabl) fish species in the web of marine biodiversity are overexploited, killed as bycatch and discarded, and threatened (trätnd) by the industrialized fisheries. Scientists agree that at current exploitation rates many important fish stocks will be removed from the system within 25 years. WHAT CAN WE DO TO HELP?: Every long-term successful and sustainable fishery, near-shore or

OVERFISHING

 What is causing overfishing?  Why is overfishing a problem?  Fishing down the food web (toitumisahela võrgustik)  What can we do to help? WHAT IS OVERFISHING?  Catching too much fish for the system to support leads to an overall degradation to the system.  Overfishing is a non-sustainable use of the oceans. WHAT IS CAUSING OVERFISHING?  Worldwide, fishing fleets are at least two to three times as large as needed to take present day catches of fish and other marine species.  On a global scale we have enough fishing capacity to cover at least four Earth like planets.  Overfishing have a large impact on the basic functioning of our marine ecosystems.  These unselective fishing practices and gear cause tremendous destruction on non target species. WHY IS OVERFISHING A PROBLEM?  The FAO scientists publish a report

recruit was under 19 years of age? They turned a blind eye because the Army was in desperate need of troops and the recruitment officers were paid a bounty for each new recruit. 8. 3 Energy Dividends You Can Still Trust

3 Energy Dividends You Can Still Trust This has been a bad year for energy dividends, but there are still a few out there that investors can still trust. With the price of oil recently hitting a sevenyear low and natural gas now at a 14 year low, there has been a deep impact on the cash flows at oil and gas companies. Many don't have enough money coming in to drill the required number of new wells needed to maintain their production rates, let alone any left over to pay shareholders a steady dividend. This has resulted in the reduction or suspension of a countless number of energyrelated dividends. All that said, there are a few energy dividends that investors can still trust. Here are three companies that have been making their dividend a priority. Jason Hall After Kinder Morgan's stunning announcement that it would cut its rocksolid (or so I thought) dividend by 75%, just days after announcing that it would generate plenty...

The most important thing for a happy life

The most important thing for a happy life There are a lot of things that are needed for a happy life. Some people think the most important thing is money, some people think it is good health. In my opinion, the most important thing for a happy life is a little bit of everything. I do not think it is just money or family or an important job that will make my life happy. However, I do not think i have to have it all just a little bit of everything which means a close family, money, good health and a good job.

If I were the minister of education

If I were the minister of education, I would do changes in education system. We have a lot of problems in education. Firstly, I would change the exam system. I will lose the national tests to make the schools themselves and instead of school examinations. It increases the benefit of the examinations passed. What is very positive. Also, it would make life easier for students. Secondly, we should pay more attention to rural schools. There are a lot of schools which would be needed to renovate. It should be a lot of money to invest. We should not focus only on the city schools. Finally, as far as I know from year to year decrease in the number of high school graduates. And this is a great loss for our education. Because we need more and more people to teach at the University of engineers and IT professionals. In conclusion, educational needs of our increasingly well-educated people. This is our future. High School education should be more valued
