Kokkuvõte: "What makes a good leader?"

What makes a good leader? There are many different leadership theories and opinions about characteristics and skills that leader should have. The Great Man Theory declares that the leaders are born not made, but the another theory claims that some people just have more leadership gifts than others. It's good to know leadership theories because the better you know them, the better you are likely to lead. If you want to succeed in your career or business, it is important to be the leader in your field. Leaders need clear sense of their calling and they need to be curios about it to notice new things. Nevertheless good leaders have to remember that they don't know everything. There are general characteristics that good leader should have. Bill George thinks also that leadership is not about skills, but about leaders character. He said that it is important to have sense of purpose, passion and mission. Daisy Wa...

What Makes a Successful Manager?

What Makes a Successful Manager? A manager is a person who is responsible for everything that happens in the company. He gives out orders to subordinates so that everything would function fluently and makes sure that those are fulfilled. A successful manager often is not a successful business owner because those are two totally different positions and demand for different qualities and personality traits. What makes a successful manager? Firstly, in my opinion the manager should be an excellent communicator and more important I find being a good motivator as employees normally quite often have ups and downs or loss of motivation, so it is crucial for the company that the manager were up to motivate and find suitable solutions for his subordinates. Secondly, I think that the manager should have a positive attitude, for example, even though

What makes a person successful?

What makes a person successful ? To answer that question, we firstly have to define a word success, because I personally think that everybody does it differently, but here comes my version. Success is a moment when a person achieves a goal that they has made for himself for a long time period. In my opinion, we have to stress the words ,,long time period." Why ? Because I do not think that somebody has made an enormous success, when the goal they had made was not actually a challenge. To make it more clear to You, we should not use extremely widespread Borat's expression ,,Great success!" so often. A succesful person takes down such goals as a wish to be a director, to get promoted and to marry a very nice looking lady. Achievements which some people see only in their dreams, the ones you can be proud of ! Surely it depends on every individual personally, what is important for them. In conclusion, a succesful per...

"What makes a good movie?"

What makes a good movie? To make a good movie, the director has to succeed in many different fields. If the movie has great special effects and acting, but the story is very weak, the movie may not be as successful as a movie with moderate effects, acting and story. A good movie consists of three most important elements: story, actors and special effects. The most important part of the movie is the story. Many good movies are based on successful books and thus already have a great story as well as many fans that liked the book and will be looking forward to the movie. Other movies that are not based on any existing stories have to have a better story to be successful because they most likely won't have any real fans before the movie is released. The story can't be too long or too short. It has to have some detail but not too much as that would make the movie boring and long. Too much text and no real action or ...

unleashed and takes risks. Person like that can transform his or her organization for major developement. A good leader needs to be able to laugh but a great leader should be abel to laugh at oneself. Secondly, a good leader is considering with his employees. Of course he or she has to have skills and knowledge on how to motivate workers and pave the way for company's success, but one cannot forget that leading requires a big responsibility. For example, if the head of a company makes bad financial decisions, everyone on that company is being influenced. In conclusin, I can say that the shape of a leader is never plain. Leadership is both art and science. Also, a good leader has to consider with his employees, be wise and make right decisions.

What makes a good movie

What makes a good movie? There are many movies made every year but not all get a positive feedback. Some of them get very famous but some of them don't. So what kind of movies attract people to go to the cinema? It is not very simple to answer this question. Some of us like movies that are futuristic and mystical, but the others love movies that involve love, romance or even violent movies where they can see crime and investigation. I think a good movie has to be true-to-life and stunning. I especially love movies that surprise me. A superb movie has to be educative it has to let me know about something new. The best movies have professional actors. Without great actors and actresses, the movies are not so stunning. They need to make the movies seem real and original. People don't think the same way. We have different opinions, so not everyone like the movies that I enjoy watching. Nevertheless a movie has to be fas...

Essay: What Makes a Good Teacher

What Makes a Good Teacher As everybody knows, being a teacher requires different qualities that many people do not have. It is commonly accepted that teaching is often extremely difficult and stressful because pupils can sometimes give the tutor a hard time. Only the tough ones survive. I reckon it all comes down to the circumstance whether the teacher loves her job or does she do it just for the salary. If she only does it for money, the children will not take her seriously. She should also have a vast knowledge of her subject. Otherwise, it is really difficult for the attentive and eager pupils to get answers to their questions.Another important quality is humour. I believe that helps to make picking up knowledge much easier and more fun. Children always prefer teachers with a good sense of humour. However, tutors should be a litte strict otherwise the class will not behave. Furthermore, the relation...

Money makes the world go round

Money makes the world go round Karl Johan Lips Money! the thing we all are working for. For few of us it has came easily by lottery, simple inventions or just having studied and listened to good advise by smart business owners, teachers and parents. Others however have had to struggle to get money because of simple reasons like not having studied in school or college, being lazy, or not doing the job correctly. Its clear that money is as important that living without it is almost impossible. But exactly how important and what is less or more important then money is left for every individual himself to decide. People use their money differently, for example their are celebrities who waste money on 5 different cars and 4 houses just to show they are rich but there are also people like Bill Gates who are very humble and donate huge amount of their money to help people who ca...

Money Makes The World Go Round

Money Makes the World Go Round Money is powerful. People do everything to get money, the more the better. Some people even kill to get more money or that the other man would not get that much. Why has money become so valuable? When I was a small boy, I thought of money as a piece of paper that my parents give away at the store. Growing up, I have realized the power of this paper. It can get you everything. And by everything I mean absolutely everything. It can get you food, a house, a car, a bike, sometimes even love. When you go outside, then you often see homeless persons looking for bottles. You also see very rich people who seem to have everything but yet they want more. They all ask themselves the same question - how to get more money? I think money has become so valuable because prospects are slowly running out and because of that gas value goes up, food value goes up and everythi...

A little consideration, a little thought for others makes all the difference

A little consideration, a little thought for others makes all the difference For most of us, it’s our dream from a young age: We want to change the world. We all want to live in clean and a better world. We want to make everyone laugh and happy because it makes us happy. While you are getting older your thought to change the world will disappear. As a teenager you are thinking about your dream job. Maybe you want to be a doctor, a musician or start your own business. They are all very different thoughts but they’re not easy. Big dreams are always difficult. So is changing the world. When you want to change the world, you have to start with yourself. If you change your thinking you will change your feelings. While you are feeling positive it is more

Books Today and Tomorrow

Books Today and Tomorrow Why is it important to read books? Do people read less books than in the past? Will people read less in the future? Books have always played a great role in our lives and reading them is highly important. It increases knowledge and expands vocabulary, which integrates to writing. Reading books makes a person more intelligent and it gives a different perspective. Nowadays people tend to read less books than they used to. The main reason for this catastrophy is the development of technology. People would rather watch moving pictures in the television than pick up an old book covered in dust. In the past, when there were no television or computers to entertain people, books were basically the only amusement. On the

Are you experienced- book review

Are you experienced? By William Sutcliffe Have you ever thought about backpackers and what makes them go to such a nerve-racking trip? Or do they regret leaving modern life behind and packing it up to find themselves in 3 rd world countries? I had thought about it before, however newer as thoroughly as William Sutcliffes novel made me think. The author writes about the struggles and triumphs in adjusting to major environmental changes and issues with other travellers that appear in every other backpackers journey.

The Person I Admire Most

When I saw her the first time I started to text her messages all day. Since I wrote "You complete my happiness", she was in love with me. In February 13 I organized my birthday at a pub called Oscar and of course I invited her. We dance all night toghether and we started a relationship, although I knew her only sine one week. First date was on cinema at “50 Shades of Grey” movie. Funny right?  Every time she makes me happy. We did a lot of things together like: karting, go with ATV, swimming, we splashed with water guns, we go outside to ride bikes, we go on cinema and almost everywhere, we go together. We understand very well and longest quarrel between us lasted five minutes. He is a very kind person, she tells no lies, she’ll tell you if she doesn’t like your after-shave and you won’t find her in the corner at the party. Petra is a very happy and cheerful person.

"Dear John" - analüüs

hellust, hoolt ning armastust, mis ongi tõeline õnn, kuid kui filmist nähtu järgi pean ma selle tõttu kannatama, aastaid kaotama ning valu tundma, siis tahaksin ma lihtsalt praegusesse hetke igaveseks jääda ja end tuleviku eest kaitsta. The film itself was very sad and involved two complitely different sides of life love and pain it costs. First the film fooled me and gave me a reason to believe that there is really love, that makes people happy. True, there is such thing as true love, but does it always makes us happy? And if it makes, than for how long? Actors did a really good job, their eye and body language revealed happiness, trust, love and desire. The couple tried to work it out, when John went back to the military, but next to the distance was another important aspect time. When the time passed, both lives moved on and in both lives happened a lot. Then the film

What are the benefits of factory work? A factory or manufacturing plant is an industrial building where workers manufacture goods or supervise machines processing one product into another. Most modern factories have large warehouses -like facilities that contain heavy equipment used for assembly line production. Film review “Scent of a Woman“ 1992 by Martin Brest

meals, sleep with a beautiful woman and, finally, commit suicide. Over the weekend, as they learn about life through their series of adventures, they start trusting eachother. Two absolute favourite scenes: The first is in the New York ballroom where the blind Lt. Colonel teaches a lady to dance the tango. It is so smooth and dramatic that even a couch potato is tempted to dance along. The second and most profound is the speech that Al Pacino makes in defense of Charlie at the prep school disciplinary hearing. It has to go down as one of the great orations of all times. I also love the ferrari scene, where Charlie allows the Colonel to drive. In my opinion the purpose of this film is to make people think more about others. It touched me, and even made me cry a bit. I really think it fulfilled it's purpose. The dialogue in Scent of a woman is so well-written, very quotable, the acting unbelievable.

"Pros and Cons of state education"

Education Most of the people in Estonia receive state education. Estonian schools have been laid down in the National Curriculum. So you get the same education from any of the state schoole. Firstly, I'd like to say that the main problem is that the curriculum is too rigid. Although this gives all the students a fair change of getting a good and even better education, it doesn't take into consideration that some children just can't cope with all that knowledge. This makes the students restless and that leads to bad behaviour. Secondly, we can say that the education you get in Estonia is above average, cause Estonia is a highly developed country. This is mainly because of the National Curriculum that makes all schools give a good average education. A good thing about the state schools is that they are usually quite near to where u live. The teachers are well qualified. This makes the education even better.

Lõbu ja realism peab olema võrdselt jaotatud, et mäng jääks lõpuni välja huvitavaks (Jon Ray WHAT MAKES A GOOD VIDEO GAME; http://www.cm4.com/index.php/2010/02/what-makes-a-good-video-game/; 28.03.2012). 2.1 Graafika, gameplay ja heli.

Samsara

Samsara An hour and a half long movie, which at first seems to be my longest ninety minutes ever, hides some real beauty in it. The movie gives us an opportunity to see every side of our planet. It makes me want to go and see every part of it. Samsara is a kind of movie that, at first, makes you want to change the channel. However, it gets much better the longer you watch it. There is just so much to see. It makes us wonder how is it possible that something that breathtaking even exists. On the other hand, it might be a hard movie to watch for some people, because it is slow and just drags on in places. I am more than sure that there are some who would rather watch paint dry. In addition, there is no one talking in the movie.

It is also quite worn-out by now because I have had it for some time now and I tend to wear it throughout the spring and autumn months. In fact it has gotten quite a few little tears where it has got caught on sharp objects. These clothes came from one of those big department stores and not a specialist leather shop. I am a big believer in wearing clothing that makes you feel great. The ideal item of clothing is the one that makes you both look and feel great. My favourite outfit makes me feel gorgeous and confident. This outfit is special because it is different – it is just not like any other item I have in my wardrobe.

Art and aesthetics essay

to birds it may be. The study of beauty is something not easily perfected because there is no absolute and true single beautiful thing in the world. Ideas of what is beautiful and what isn't change quickly, one day something may be thought of as "in" and the next day "out." I have learned that beauty isn't necessarily a person, place, or thing. Beauty for the most part is a feeling it's internal, something in your heart or mind that makes you smile when you see, hear, or sense it. Something beautiful can give you a sublime feeling or may relax you in some ways, making you believe that everything is right in the world. Not all works of art necessarily create an aesthetic experience in us. For example when we look at a painting and all we can think about is to determine how much we can sell it for then obviously this is not an eye of a person enjoying art, but a brain of a businessman and one should be

Virtual friendship Virtual world undoubtedly makes our lives easier and makes it easier for us to get more friends, but are those real friends? Although virtual world gives us a chance to make more friends, there is considerable disagreement over whether these new friends are real or not. The main argument for the virtual world being superficial is that nowadays people rather tend to stay in front of their screens and just talk than go out and have a good time eye to eye. Therefore people might not have any idea who they are talking to or what these people really

Something out of nothing

new and interesting just because we're humans. We like to feel big and important, it's just our nature and we can't help it. For example, many people believe in God. They believe God is always watching over them, so they have to behave, because noone wants to be on the bad side in the eyes of God. And ofcourse everyone wants to go to heaven, so you can't really get on God's nerves, or he'll just send you to hell. The way I see it, God makes all the rules and you can't really argue with him, because he's God. He can do what he wants, that's just the way it is. In my opinion humans want to feel as powerful as God. It makes us feel better about ourselves, if we can make our own rules from time to time. Let's say, that a musician is writing a song. He makes something out of nothing and he can't help it, he loves the idea of being almighty. Because let's face it, to that song, the writer is God. It is completely

Body Shaming

Did you ever stop and think about how often we are told to change our appearance? Magazines constantly offer tips about how to lose weight “in days,” appear slimmer “instantly,” and hide our “imperfections”… without actually knowing anything about us, much less our appearance. This is one example of body-shaming, and it is everywhere. It has become the norm to criticize aspects of our bodies as some type of bonding experience with friends – if we all hate our bodies; it somehow makes us feel connected and united. Body-shaming can lead to a vicious cycle of judgment and criticism. Messages from the media and from each other often imply that we should want to change, that we should care about looking slimmer, smaller, and tanner. And if we don’t, we worry that we are at risk of being the target of someone else’s body-shaming comments. Body-shaming manifests in many ways: Like Criticizing your own appearance, through a judgment or comparison to another

Love and forgiveness Is it hard to forgive someone, that you love? Most of the people think that asking for forgiveness makes you look like a loser. In asking for forgiveness you also have to admit you are wrong and people do not like to do that. Nobody wants to be humiliated. In the first place, when someone has insulted you, and the person admits that he has been wrong, then i see no reason why not to forgive him. I think that it is important that the person himself understands his fault. Everyone needs a second chance. Furthermore, you want to forgive someone, who is really related to you. However, you

The EU has also given European countries a voice in world affairs. Smaller countries like Estonia and Latvia now can also get a word in world affairs, they are heard. Another advantage of the EU is that the EU has a strong common currency Euro. It makes travelling easier and also cheaper, because you can go on holiday and not have to worry about exchange money, therefore avoid high exchange charges. There is also peace amongst nations. The EU has managed to avoid conflicts and war and it makes smaller countries feel safe. The EU was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2012. One big benefit of the EU is single market and its great success. Single market allows goods

From: Mari Maasikas Subject: Students’ reading interests Introduction The purpose of this report is to give an overview of Aru School students’ reading interests and recommendations for new books. The report is based on a survey that was carried out by Mari Maasikas at Aru Secondary School earlier this year. Girls Approximately one third of the female students are interested in romantic novels. Thrillers account for slightly below a quarter of the pie chart. Poetry makes up 17 percent of total and historical novels roughly 30%. Boys Slightly over than 50% of the male students prefer to read books from the thriller genre. The romantic novels account for one tenth of the chart. About 30% of the boys are interested in historical novels. Poetry makes up 9 percent of the results. Recommendations Seeing how Aru Secondary School students read books from only four different genres, I would like to give a few recommendations as to what kind of books to buy

Drug abuse

Use of these drugs may lead to criminal penalty. Other definitions of drug abuse fall into four main categories: public health definitions, mass communication and vernacular usage, medical definitions, and political and criminal justice definitions. Depending on the actual compound, drug misuse including alcohol may lead to health and social problems: such as injuries, unprotected sex, violence, deaths, vehicle accidents, homo and suicides and mortality. Drug abuse makes central nervous system effects, which produce changes in mood, levels of awareness or perceptions and sensations. Some drugs appear to be more likely to lead to uncontrolled use than others. Bans Most governments have designed legislation to criminalise certain types of drug use. These drugs are often called "illegal drugs" but generally what is illegal is their unlicensed production, distribution, and possession. These drugs are also called "controlled substances".

Furthermore, people do not know that their information is totally unprotected and visible for everyone. Last but not least, visiting social networks like facebook, twitter, snapchat and so on, makes people addicted. For example, people often forget themselves surfing hours on these pages. Eclipse, Chapter Fourteen – Declaration

Chapter Fourteen Declaration Bella, Edward, and Alice are in the school cafeteria discussing their upcoming graduation party. Bella thinks the planned assault on the newborns makes a party inappropriate. Alice counters that they need time to get a few things in order before the battle, and commemorating Bella's first (and only human) high-school graduation is entirely appropriate. Edward informs Bella of Jasper's concern that they get help in their fight against the newborns. Jasper and Carlisle are trying to track down old friends to join the fight including Maria, but nobody wants to involve the southerners. Edward is convinced that someone will

Sin City - review

It was directed by Frank Miller, Robert Rodriquez and Quentin Tarantino. Film is based on four Sin City stories: "The Customer is Always Right", "The Hard Goodbye", "The Big Fat Kill" and "That Yellow Bastard". Sin City had a very good actors like Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke, Clive Owen, Jessica Alba, Rosario Dawson, Jamie King, Brittany Murphy, Benicio Del Toro, Nick Stahl, Elijah Wood, Michael Clarke Duncan. All the film is in black and white with a few colored details. It makes perfect environment and makes you feel like in a comic books. Sin City is shared into four parts and all those parts are wrapped together like one masterpiece. All the film is about are corruption and different characters who manage themselves through the grimy and violent city. Frank Miller had bring some remarkable characters into his comic novel like Marv, who is huge hulking thug and almost impossible to kill. I was very impressed by that film. It gave me a whole new movie experience

"Babel" My favourite film

that link on American tourist couple struggle to survive, two Moroccan boys involved in an accidental crime, nanny illegally crossing into Mexico with two American children and a Japanese teen girl rebel, whose father is caught by the police in Tokyo. Every branch of the story has it s very own distinct style that complements the plot of each one perfectly. The scenes are stunning, beautiful and dramatic. The film makes quite a sad impression, because the events of the film are tragic. "Babel" is a film that, of course, is about what makes all humans alike. It shows no matter what language we speak, how many boarders we have drawn on a map or how often we try to separate ourselves through culture we cannot destroy the one thing that draws us together: the painful reality of our powerful nature, pain will always make as one.

Leona Lewis"Bleeding Love"and Lenny Kravitz"American woman"

differently interprated by Lenny Kravitz in 1999. Some say the ,,American Woman" refers to a Statue of Liberty or has something to do with anti-war movements in 1970's but the actual meaning of this particular song is still unknown. To sum up, these two artist represent various styles of music. Leonas music is more emotional, having an edgy side to it, while Lennys music is more of a ,,retro" style. How does the music of both of them impact us? I believe Leona makes us think more about love and future but Lenny makes us think about the past because of the scent of retro in his music. Should advertisements promoting alcohol be banned?

Should advertisements promoting alcohol be banned? Nowadays lots of people drink alcoholic drinks. While I think that drinking alcoholic drinks is up to every person himself, I am strongly opposed to advertisements promoting alcohol. Firstly, seeing, for example, a cold bottle of beer with water drops on it on TV is very tempting. It looks so beautiful and fresh and that makes you think that you have to buy it. Usually people do not think that it looks good only on TV and those drinks are harmful for health. Furthermore, advertisements promoting alcohol show that drinking alcohol makes people cooler and parties better. In these advertisements all the people are smiling, nobody is angry and everybody feels at ease. But in real life these parties are not so good, some people, who are really drunk, start to fight with other ones. Also, it is not unusual

Oliver Twist

Review Oliver Twist Recently, when an English troupe came to Estonia to play Oliver Twist, we were lucky enough to go see it at the Salme Centre. The play was based on the book Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens. They performed it in English, ofcourse, but what makes the play more interesting, is that it was in Old English. Thanks to the language, it took us back in time where the story takes place. It was hard to focus on the play, because of a girl who was sitting in the last row. She was laughing at all times, although the play had only a few humorous lines worth laughing. If you go to a theatre and you find the play boring, sit quietly and have some respect for other people. I really don't like plays where they cut down on the number of actors

"The Printed Word will Never Die" essee

The Printed Word Will Never Die Books have been around for ages. People have used to aquire new knowledge and experience for a very long time which makes books the oldest source of new knowledge. For some youth, reading is a very hard thing to do, some just cannot pick up a book and start reading, most would rather hang out with friends or play computergames. Furthermore, some youth also prefer watching movies to reading, because a film is a lot easier to follow, reading a book is sometimes exhausting and tiring. But all that said, there is something about books, if a book is truly interesting, then something just forces you
