How can we increase the quality of breathable air? Essee

But how many of us realize that this has become irrelevant in today’s world? Air pollution is the addition of any harmful substances to the atmosphere, which causes the damaging of the environment, human health and the quality of life. Firstly, we should use green methods of powering like wind energy and landfill gas energy. This would reduce the amount of harmful gases. Another useful suggestion would be to plant trees. In this way we can increase the source of breathable oxygen. Unfortunately, many companies are contributing to deforestation. Finally, it would help if we put taxes on carbon emissions or higher taxes on gasoline. In this way people and companies will have greater incentives to conserve energy and pollute less. In conclusion, there are many ways to pollute the air less. We all have to do whatever we can to solve this major problem. As Shimon Peres said “If a problem has no solution, it may not be a problem...

Smoking is on the increase among young people

Smoking is one of the biggest causes of death and health diseases. Most of the youths start smoking to improve their self image with no attention of becoming addicted. The awareness of the harmful effects of smoking among young people has been rising but many of the young people ignore the dangers of smoking. One possible solution to reduce smoking is to educate the teens. Schools could have classes and seminars that increase the knowledge about the consequences of smoking. That way teens would be aware of the health problems such as many different cancers, heart diseases, asthma and strokes caused by cigarettes. Youths should also see the visuals how smoking ages skin and yellows teeth. Also a similar meetings for parents and students should be organised. After this parents might be more intrested in and responsible for their child' s health. Teens would care about their health more...

Summary - the main principles of the internatinal meetings.

Next important issue that such meeting`s participants come from different countries, so identifying their nationalities must be taken into account. Meetings that last for several days need to be scheduled for any social program for the participants. Now consider the reasons for suchkind of meeting. There are: - rewarding performance; - creating opprtunities for professional development; - to introduce new products; - increase a sales pitch. Now move on to the problems typical in international meetings.A classic mistake is that meeting`s material arrives after one meeting ended, ignorance of the cultural characteristics of the participants, inattention in relation to the physicalcondition of guests which came from far away. In conclusion I would like to say few words about the pitfalls that take place in international meetings, such as sharing personal information, which is common in North America is not...

Pessimism vs optimism

Optimism Different approaches to the ‘population-resources’ debate Malthus Task: View figure 13.57 (page 378 of Waugh). Draw the graph and discuss. Malthus believed that there was a finite optimum population in relation to food supply and that an increase beyond that point would lead to a decline in living standards and to war, famine and disease.  An increase in the population above the optimum limit would therefore lead to war, famine and disease. A PESSIMISTIC approach  Thomas Malthus (1798) proposed his work during the early stages of the industrial revolution when inadequate food and clothing were common features in England.  His argument was that population increases (geometrically) or at an exponential rate if unchecked i.e. 1-2-4-8- 16-32 etc  Food supply at best increases at an...

Germans and Russians still dominated in the intellectual, political and economic elite of society; the lower ranks, peasants and workers, were predominantly Estonian. Emergence of parties and the 1905 revolution The modernisation processes of Estonian society continued in the early 20th century -- industrialisation and urbanisation increase in production and consumption, the use of technological innovations, rapid development of the infrastructure and communications, brisk political activity and growing pluralism. The whole of society was greatly enlivened by the emergence of a new generation of Estonian politicians. In 1904, the Estonians achieved their first major political breakthrough: at the Tallinn municipal elections, the Estonian-Russian bloc gained a majority, defeating the Germans who had so far remained in power...

Viljandi

In 1481, ivan iia of runnian laid siege to the castle but could not take it. After the great northern war the russians revoked local autonomy until 1783, when in the course of the regency reforms of the empress catherine the great viljandi became a district town. This involved the re-establishment of town bylaws. The economic and political importance of viljandi started to increase . the population, after decreasing in population and wealth, started to rise again, as handicraft, trading, and cultural life were revived. The popular Estonian newspaper was founded in Viljandi in 1878. I like Viljandi. Sources Viljandi.-EE 10. Education

VIII, No. 2, 1990. Subscriptions $10/year from 10 Shanks Pond Road, Falmouth, MA 02540. If today is a typical day on planet Earth, we will lose 116 square miles of rainforest, or about an acre a second. We will lose another 72 square miles to encroaching deserts, as a result of human mismanagement and overpopulation. We will lose 40 to 100 species, and no one knows whether the number is 40 or 100. Today the human population will increase by 250,000. And today we will add 2,700 tons of chlorofluorocarbons to the atmosphere and 15 million tons of carbon. Tonight the Earth will be a little hotter, its waters more acidic, and the fabric of life more threadbare. The truth is that many things on which your future health and prosperity depend are in dire jeopardy: climate stability, the resilience and productivity of natural systems, the beauty of the natural world, and biological diversity....

If I were the misiter on education

Because of that some students can not afford to eat at school but schooldays are long and it is unhealthy to go all day without eating. School buffet's offer unhealthy chips and pies but very little healthy vegetables and fruits so I would make buffets healthier. Secondly, I believe that it would make classes more effective to watch different educational movies. Doing the same thing from day to day is simply boring and some variety would surely increase students' interest in class. The third thing I would do to spice up life at school is organizing more fieldtrips. There are many different cultural and historical exhibits and museums kids may never visit unless they skip classes to do so. To sum up, I would say that although the Minister of Education could change a lot, our school life today is pretty good....

Why should tourists visit Estonia?

We have so many different cultures from different places put into a little place all together that you could almost say we are a huge city not a country. And that has influenced us in a very remarcable way. Since the time we can remember we have been under Danes, Swedes, Germans, Russians, Polans and other. We have taken their traditions into our daily lives and forgotten ours. But still despite the fact that we bearly know our own language structure or our old traditions,we try to awake them once again. Estonia is one of the worlds wealthiest countries when it comes to forests. Almost half of the country is covered with the divercity of trees. Also we have many big rivers. Nowadays there are many possibilities to hike in the forests or to go for a ride on the river. Many company`s have started to give out th...

Fiskaalpoliitika ehk eelarvepoliitika

An important question is also what the fiscal policy of the Estonian Government should be if Estonia joins the European Union and what requirements should be met in harmonising the fiscal policy. To be able to attain the main aims of Estonian fiscal policy the Estonian Government has to take concrete measures and make changes both on the revenue and expenditure sides of the budget: · Increase the efficiency of tax collection · Improve tax administration · Educate taxpayers in order to develop the understanding that paying taxes is a social agreement · Strengthen budget discipline and raise the efficiency of government expenditures and social programmes · Stimulate private sector saving · Find ways for increasing investments into human capital and research and development. 80...

The Greenhouse Effects

For example, it's possible that a winter day in Buffalo, New York, could be sunny and mild, but the average weather the climate tells us that Buffalo's winters will mainly be cold and include snow and rain. Climate change represents a change in these long-term weather patterns. They can become warmer or colder. Annual amounts of rainfall or snowfall can increase or decrease. Global Warming: Global warming refers to an average increase in the Earth's temperature, which in turn causes changes in climate. A warmer Earth may lead to changes in rainfall patterns, a rise in sea level, and a wide range of impacts on plants, wildlife, and humans. When scientists talk about the issue of climate change, their concern is about global warming caused by human activities. The increasing infrastructure instability is an important issue in relation to...

Hiina

The government also focuses on foreign trade as a major vehicle for economic growth, which led to 5 Special Economic Zones (SEZ: Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Shantou, Xiamen, Hainan Province) where investment laws are relaxed so as to attract foreign capital. Since the 1990s, SEZs and similar concepts have been expanded to major Chinese cities, including Shanghai and Beijing. The result has been a 6-fold increase of GDP since 1978. Chinese economic development is among the fastest in the world, and has been growing at an average annual GDP rate of 9.4% for the past 25 years.[57] At the end of 2005, the PRC became the fourth largest economy in the world by exchange rate, and the second largest in the world after the United States by purchasing power parity at US$8,158 trillion.[58] But with...
