Emergency situatsions, in case of fire

However, you must already know how to use one, to be effective and timely enough for it to count. Keep yours in your kitchen, near enough to get to it quick, but not too close to the fire to reach it. Check it regurally to insure it would work properly if needed. · In the event of a larger fire, announce "FIRE!" loudly to everyone and gather all the people immediately and ask them to go out of the house via the nearest safe door or window. Do not re-enter the home! · If you are inside and don't know if there is fire on the other side of a door, test the door before you open it. To do this, kneel down to stay under the smoke levels. Reach up around half way up the door, and touch the door with the back of your hand. If there's a fire on the other side, it will feel warm on the knob and around the cracks. Do not touch the handle or other parts of the door with your palm, as you may burn your hands

Estonian climate in winter-time.

Estonian climate in winter-time. In Estonia, winter climate is very variable. Some year, it could be very cold outside, but some year it could be so warm you may wear your autumn clothes in winter. Some year it could snow so much, that you can't even get out of the house, because there's too much snow in front of your door and some year it may not snow for at least half of the winter-time. But no worries, mostly the temperature may go below -30 and because of the cold, students are absent from schools. The absent students mess up the whole classes program, because then it takes more time to study some subjects and teachers have a lot more work to do. I think, that when students skip school because of the bad weather, teachers should put homework and the work that should

Gothic story

She started hearing all kinds of voices from the attic. All at once the barking dogs went mad; she heard a crazed laughter coming from the attic and a thump. That was the last thing Ella remembered when she woke up- she had fainted and now when she looked at the timepiece she noticed it was five o'clock. It was still dark outside and the house was silent. There was a noise she couldn't identify coming from the garden and then some footsteps and a weak knock on the door. For a second Ella couldn't decide whether she was dreaming or not and if she should react to the knock. She then, very slowly got up and went to the door. She saw nothing from the peephole- it was too dark outside. Ella decided to open the door very slowly. Her heart skipped a beat as she saw a bloody hand fall in from the gap. Now she noticed a black figure lying on her doormat. Ella fainted again. This time the last thing she heard was the unknown figure moaning the words "Karma".

How to write a formal letter? Kuidas kirjutada ametlikku kirja?

09.2008 Dear Sir Brown I'm writing for you because I'm dissatisfied about the success rate in this year's examinations. I read your report and it leaves me an explicit and clear message the standards are falling and noone tries itselfs best anymore. Years ago it was very difficult to pass an exam, it was hard for us and only few of us could do it so I have to agree with your sayings. None of them worked hard I guess, they just walk in school from door to door and they think that they can just achieve theirs purposes like that. They need some experiences and things which can give them something to learn. In the future, they can't just celebrate and walk on air every day. They have to face difficulties and learn that somethimes there are hard times in everyone's life. Having done the exams and they're celebrating and being proud of themselves. There must me some equality of treatment, equal oppurtunities and some respect for last years'

In Estonia, where are swmaps and pine-wood, sandy beaches, blue sky and big fileds, where are people who i know and the place where i feel in home My perfect home is located outside of Tallinn, in the midst of nature. It is a two story house with a red roof and the house is surrounded by big white fence. Stepping into the garden, you can notice a cobblestoned road, which takes you to the door. Beside the road are planted little red flowers and the garden is covered with green grass. From afar you can see a sauna house, and it has also a red roof. There you can enjoy the sauna and after that you can sit in the soft sofa, relax and chat with friends in anteroom. Beside the saunahouse there is a grilling place, where you can enjoy barbecueing, when the weather allows you to. Now I'll talk about the house itself. Main entrance is a big oaken door. We were getting on the plane and I was getting more and more nervous, when our instructor told us that if we did not jump he would kick us out with his leg and that made me even more nervous. After we got to the jumping altitude our instructor opened the door and told me: “You are first”. As I was making my way to the door I tried to calm myself down but thinking about jumping made that very difficult. Few seconds later I took all the courage that I had collected and just jumped off the plane and after that everything started to calm down. I screamed from joy and had the best time of my life, few minutes later I started preparing for the landing. I executed the landing very smoothly and my instructor was pretty impressed with it.

Dear Sir/Madam, 22 May 2013 I am writing to you in order to complain about the extraordinary opening hours of your National Museum of Physic Art. There were several aspects that I was sincerely dissatisfied with, and I hope that in the nearest future you will take steps to eliminate these faults. To begin with, I arrived at your museum at exactly 11.12, yet the ticket office was still closed even though according to the advertisement every door should have been opened by 11 o'clock. However, when I started to look for another gate or entrance, there were none at all. It seems that the front door of your museum is very difficult to find without a map. As for more, the staff working was extremely rude! I was trying to ask for my location and how to enter the museum but all I ever heard as a reply was insulting mumble and no clear sentences. Of course, that might have been rather understandable if we

A short story

Today was one of those days where everything went wrong. I had prepared myself for a job interview for a long time because I wanted that job so much. One day before the interview I set the alarm clock at 7.00am, so that I would have enough time to get ready. The interview started at 9.00am. I woke up in the morning because I heard a door bell and wondered who could come so early. I saw my neighbour standing at the door holding a newspaper. ,,You always come at 8 o'clock. What are you doing here so early?" I asked. She raised her eyebrows, felt really confused and said she had come as usual. I glanced at my watch and understood that my alarm clock hadn't rang. My job interview would start in one hour and I had to hurry on a bus. Half an hour later I was in the bus station and felt relieved because I had still 5 minutes until my bus came. So I waited and looked at the timetable and saw that the bus drove every

Irish Christmas

Ireland's Christmas is more religious than a time of fun. Lighted candles are placed in windows on Christmas Eve, as a guide that Joseph and Mary might be looking for shelter. The candles are usually red in color, and decorated with sprigs of holly. Irish women bake a seed cake for each person in the house. They also make three puddings, one for each day of the Epiphany such as Christmas, New Year's Day and the Twelfth Night. After the Christmas evening meal, bread and milk are left out and the door unlatched as a symbol of hospitality. St Stephen's Day, the day after Christmas, is almost as important, with football matches and meetings going on. For children, the Wren Boys Procession is their big event. Boys go from door to door with a fake wren on a stick, singing, with violins, accordions, harmonicas and horns to accompany them. The reason for the ceremony is to ask for money 'for the starving wren', that is, for their own pockets

Housing

their house must first get "planning permission" from the local authorities. Interiors: the importance of cosiness British idea of home is as much psychological as physical, so is their idea of domestic comfort. The important thing is to feel cosy that is, to create an atmosphere which seem warm. To many, part of cosiness is the feeling of tradition. Privacy is an element of cosiness. Privacy must be preserved so houses normally have a "hall" onto which the front door opens. With its own door, through which people pass before getting to the hallan extra line of defence! The back door is for family and close friends only. Owning and renting The desire to own the place where you live is almost universal in Britain. However, house prices are high. This dilemma is overcome by the mortgage system. More and more of the people who dont already own a house simply cant get their feet on even the lowest rung of the ladder.

). Besides, there are: THE ATTRIBUTE (WHAT?/WHAT KIND?) and THE ADVERBIAL (WHEN? - adverbial modifier of time/WHERE? – adverbial modifier of place/ HOW? – adverbial modifier of manner) Attributes modify nouns and stand in front of them. Adverbials modify verbs and usually stand behind them: This girl has a beautiful smile. This girl smiles beautifully. Attributes are usually adjectives but sometimes nouns as well: This is an interesting (adjective) story. The kitchen ( noun) door is locked. 2 Word Order in Affirmative Sentences In English the word order is not as flexible as in many other languages. The basic structure of an affirmative sentence is SUBJECT (Who?/What?) – PREDICATE (Action/State) – OBJECT (What?): Monkeys like bananas. Mary has a little lamb. All the world is a stage. Staffing - Xculture

Staffing The most effective way of staffing for Daffodils Games & Publishing would probably be the combination of locals and expatriates. As the company is small and with a limited budget the chosen method must be both economical and effective. Since the entry mode chosen was exporting, the best way to maintain the low budget would be to mainly hire locals together with few expatriates. As the market of entering is a foreign country (Nigeria) there would be needed to hire locals of the new country in the sales, marketing and legal departments. The locals should be hired as sales representatives and agents as they know the culture, methods to approach the possible customers and the needs of the market of the new country. Their tasks would be the direct selling (i.e. door-to-door selling, attending fairs and trade shows) and also meeting with the potential retailers and ...

Halloweeni jutt

Lying on the floor of the porch they saw a broken flower pot. "That's what made the loud crash we heard," Ben said. "See? There's nothing scary here." "Yeah," John said, "Go ahead, Ben." Just then Ben and John saw a large, strange shadow behind the wavy glass in the front door. Suddenly, the shadow started moving towards them! Before they could knock or even think, the door flew open! A large pumpkin stood before them! Ben and John shouted and jumped back with a start! John turned to run away. "Wait! Happy Halloween vampire and zombie!" the large pumpkin said, laughing. "Great costumes! Don't you two want some candy?" John said, "Hey, I remember that voice! I know

One story

One story Laurel was sitting on her bed, but everything around her was still gone. She thought it was just a dream some moments ago, but now she was certain something was wrong with her eyes. The background wasn't totally black, there were some lighter and darker places...but it didn't help her to get to the door. Slowly, almost millimeter-by-millimeter she moved to the other side of her small room, watching out for the things that were lying on the ground. "What are you doing, Laurel?" a sudden voice from somewhere behind called. The girl turned around and saw some blue stripes waving, but soon they were gone again. "Um, who is it?" she asked after a minute of silence, but the person who stood there was already gone. The next noise she heard were someone's fast, almost running feet on the stairs that

YELLOW SUBMARINE The Beatles In the town where i was born, There lived a man, Who sailed the seas, And he told us of his life, In the land of Submarines, So we sailed into the sun, Till' we found a sea of green, And we lived beneath the waves, In our yellow submarine, We all live in a yellow submarine, A yellow submarine, A yellow submarine, We all live in a yellow submarine, A yellow submarine, A yellow submarine. And my friends are all aboard, Many more of them live next door, And the band begins to play, ( a band plays a short song ) We all live in a yellow submarine, A yellow submarine, A yellow submarine, We all live in a yellow submarine, A yellow submarine, A yellow submarine. Heartless

Heartless It was one late evening when a little blond girl, aged between 7-8, ran quietly across the Ninth Avenue and entered one of the old houses that were lining the road. Inside she went smoothly though the corridors and soon reached a wooden door. After knocking twice a voice from inside called "Enter!" and the child went in. The room was filled with the smoke of numberless cigarettes. The girl, however, made no emotion and came closer to the old and ugly man sitting behind the table. "I wasn't lucky today, Grandpa," whispered the child and her light blue eyes filled with tears as she talked. The man smoked soundlessly, not even glancing at the girl. "But I'll go again, tomorrow, and bring you twice the money! I promise! So

He didn't like the idea of sleeping on hard stones on a jetty. So he started walking towards the hotel. He seemed to walk much more than a few hundred yards which it should be, but a little bit later he saw a building. No light showed, but his eyes were used to the darkness, so he found a door. There was no door bell, he knocked with his stick as loudly as he could, then a window was opened and there was a woman. She came down and greeted him warmly, then took him upstairs and showed him a room. The woman was in a red flannel dressing-gown, her hair was a little bit over her shoulders in long black wisps. She was a little stoutish with keen eyes and a red nose. She was holding a paraffin lamp. She said that she would make up the bed before he could say „Jack Robinson“, and asked if
