Nothing can be done to prevent crime

Nothing can be done to prevent crime We will always have to face grief and pain as a result of countless varieties of crimes.Unfortunately, we are prone to make bad choices and reap undesirable outcomes. What in future can make more problem, what was. The difference is that most of us have some self-control, but in time of need human beings can change drastically their personality. That is why we can not prevent all crimes every time or build a perfect society: because we are still plain humans. But we can improve on an environment by providing a higher level of education and security. In doing so, there will be a decrease in the attempts of crimes, since a higher level of social development was properly provided. Our world is well known by having a high level of poverty and all sorts of crimes. This is a consequence of bad governments that hav not provided the least welfare throughout the centuries. So...

What should be done, that marriage works?

What should be done, that marriage works. (essay) When two people fall in love, they might consider getting married. When they are married, they both hope that their happy life will last forever. There's a lot they can do, to make their marriage work. What clearly needs to be done, is that people shouldn't rush into marriage. They need to take some time to get to know each other very well, because they might find out, that they are too different for each other. This might lead to divorce, and thats what nobody wants. A couple should always be absolutely sure about their love and dedication, before they make such an important decision. Another suggestion is that partners should be supportive in every possible situation. Almost every marriage has some problems

What can be done to prevent petty crime?

What can be done to prevent petty crime? Nowadays more and more young people have started comit petty crime and people believe that thouse can be prevented. I support this view for a variety of reasons. To start with petty crime can be prevented with teenagers, the problematical ones in particular should participate to educational courses organised by the state where they can learn everything about these petty crimes an also how to avoid getting in the middle of them. It is very important to organise this meetings in the poor districts where teenagers are prone to ilicit activities such as pickpocketing or even burglery. Another method of reducing petty crime is that the people should learn how to protect their houses and their valuable goods. They should also learn how to protect themselves by thieves in order to not become victims of this criminal activity. It is very important to make people understand t...

Brexit (inglise keelne)

From 28 to 27. What is the long-term consequence of the UK leaving the European Union? There is no question that the United Kingdom leaving the European Union or Brexit as we all know it, is a big hit for the EU and the UK. It’s by no means an easy process and a lot of people are against it, but today nothing can be done to stop it. Even though Brexit is seen by its leaders as a positive change, it will also have quite a negative effect on Britain and play a big role in reshaping European Union. Most British people were voting for Brexit to regain sovereignty, to ‘take back control’ and regulate their laws. At first glance, it may seem that they would be in charge of their actions which would mean that nobody on the outside can manipulate them. Although nowadays

Almond Blossoms by Vincent Van Gogh

Almond Blossoms by Vincent Van Gogh Vincent Willem van Gogh was a Dutch Post-Impressionist painter who is one of the most famous and influential figures in the history of Western art. Vincent Willem van Gogh was born on 30 March 1853 in southern Netherlands. At the age of 37 he commited suicide after years of fighting with mental illness. He died on 27 July 1890. The Almond Blossom is a oil painting done on a canvas. Large white blossom branches like this against a blue sky were one of Van Gogh’s favourite subjects. Almond trees flower early in the spring making them a symbol of new life. They represented awakening and hope. He enjoyed them aesthetically and found joy in painting flowering trees. The blossoms of the apricot, peach and plum trees motivated him, and within a month he had created fourteen paintings of blossoming fruit trees

How To Get Better Grades

HOW TO GET BETTER GRADES To get better grades you have to learn everything and to be careful not to miss anything. In school you have to listen to everything your teacher says and you have to do your homework. Homework has to be done everyday and it has to be checked, because in your home your parents can check your homework for mistakes. When you are at school you have to be prepared and be ready to answer any questions that teachers could ask you. If you have something not done or forgot to do something, then you have to apologise to the teacher and it has to be done for the next day. The main key to success is paying attention in class, listening to every word your teacher says and to do your homework very good.

EUTHANASIA

that they could do it in a dignified manner rather than have their lives prolonged by medical technology? Ultimately, it's a question of choice: empowering people to have control over their own bodies. The main opposition comes from religious groups, medical associations whose members see practising euthanasia as an inproper exctension of their role as carers. Throughout centuries the doctors' purpose in life has been to cure suffering, how can they be expected to do otherwise, even if it's done for a good cause. The issue has been misinterpreted by some people. They seem to be of the opinion that practicing euthanasia would turn nursing homes into places of fear and elderly people in residencial home are afraid that they will be a candidate. For whatever motive it may be done, all civilisations, all religions have regarded this as morally wrong.

Pros and Cons of Technology

It is hard to find a profession where people do not use technology. Thanks to technology, we can make much more work during the day, for example a car, we can get from one town to another much faster with driving than walking. Althought it is good and comfortable for humans, it is not good for the air we breathe because of the exhaust fumes. This is the example to my belief that every technology have pros and cons at the same time. Year by year people are getting used to get their work done by or with technology, that is why i think we may get lazy and do not value what we have to do to get something done. Technology helps us to live longer. Our medicine is on whole next level than it was a century ago. I am sure that in future our average age will raise. Even thought we develop technology for better life quality, we have to be careful not to harm ourselves because i am sure that there is no good without bad.

Forgiveness and punishment

Forgiveness and punishment Everybody who has ever done anything wrong has wanted forgiveness or gotten punishment. But forgiveness is not easy however punishment is. So should people forgive or should they decide to punish? Firstly people often do not want to forgive others and want them to feel the same pain as they did. As a result of that people want to punish the people who hurt them. Although if the defendant is sorry and regrets what they did, maybe it's okay to forgive

Speech on Fast developing technology

modern technology. I think we all have noticed that almost every day there are new technology achievements at the stores. Whether we like it or not, it improves in every second, in every minute. New Apple iPhones, iPads and other i-devices are everywhere. Even tractors have a built-in computer in them. So, is it a blessing or a curse? I'm sure that most of you think it's a blessing. Do you? We like our comfortable lives, we like it when everything has been done for us already. We want to have the newest mobile phones and best cars to show off and be better than our friends. However, it can make people selfish and egoistic. They want more and more and more. In the past 10 years modern technology has improved so fast that it is clearly visible when we compare technology in the years 2002 and 2012. When I was a little boy, I remember the time when I got my first mobile phone. It was Nokia 3310 (I can bet my life on

Teaching the Vocabulary of the Text

Teaching the Vocabulary of the Text The Summary is based on the text taken from the Journal `The News letter' written by David Cranmer. Principal among the reasons is the obvious one that once the extensive context is understood, it is easier to concentrate on the detail of individual words. Large-scale vocabulary building is, in general terms, therefore better done after the text has been presented. (Cranmer 1986:60) Another important reason is that it is possible at this stage to exploit the new lexis in its own right, not just as a means comprehension, If we are to bring new vocabulary into active use and not just passive understanding, it is not sufficient for us just to teach it. It should be done in a way, so that teachers should be sure that it is learnt and used. If the words are taught after

“The soul should always stand ajar, ready to welcome the ecstatic experience.”

" -- Emily Dickinson I have chosen this quotation because I think it is more than true. I think that you should always give a chance to every offer you have given. At least you should make a try for it. We have given only one life to live, we should not waste it. First of all, I think that everything happens for a certain reason. And every bad thing that will come to your life will come also because of something. For instance you have done something bad and then it would be like some kind of punishment and also a good lesson. It will show you that what goes around, comes around. It is karma and I believe in karma. As mentioned earlier, you should always be opened for new experiences and opportunities. That is so because they are meant to be come for a better life. But everything begins form your head. So the most important is to think positively. If you are thinking positively you have got the

The importance of the rainforest

destruction is still accelerating. Unbelievably, more than 200,000 acres of rainforest are burned every day. That is more than 150 acres lost every minute of every day, and 78 million acres lost every year! More than 20 percent of the Amazon rainforest is already gone, and much more is severely threatened as the destruction continues. It is estimated that the Amazon alone is vanishing at a rate of 20,000 square miles a year. If nothing is done to curb this trend, the entire Amazon could well be gone within fifty years. Massive deforestation brings with it many ugly consequences-air and water pollution, soil erosion, malaria epidemics, the release of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, the eviction and decimation of indigenous Indian tribes, and the loss of biodiversity through extinction of plants and animals. Fewer rainforests mean less rain, less oxygen for us to breathe, and an increased threat from global warming.

Getting to the shops, which normally takes five minutes in the car, took at least an hour, so it was impossible just to pop out for a loaf of bread. It was strange having to wait until the washing dried in the garden before getting the ironing done, instead of simply using the drier." Although Carol found it quite difficult to get used to the lenght of time it took to do things, she enjoyed having a slower, more relaxed pace of life. Also, the lack of electronic entertainment, particularly the TV, had a dramatic effect on the children. They got on much better together and seemed to enjoy each other's company more, although they clearly believed that they were suffering

Kõne

Today I'm here to talk about the advantages and the disadvantages of fast development of modern technology. I think we have all noticed that almost every day there are new technology achievements at the stores. Whether we like it or not, it improves in every second, in every minute. So, is it a blessing or a curse? I'm sure that most of you think it's a blessing. We like our comfortable lives, we like it when everything has already been done for us. We want to have the newest mobile phones and best cars to show off and be better than our friends. However, it can make people selfish and egoistic. In the past 10 years modern technology has improved so fast that it is clearly visible when we compare the technology in the years 1999 and 2009. When I was a little girl, I remember the time I got my first mobile phone. It was Nokia 3210, which was thick and heavy as a rock, but I was so happy when I got it, because

''How much does life weigh?''

It is a weight of a chocolate bar, a hummingbird. Still, without these few grams we cannot live without. With these facts, life seems truly inconsequential to me. The first thought, that came into my mind, was whether this is all we are actually worth. It depends on a person, I believe that life is worth as much as you make it worth. Some may hold into these 21 grams one truly valuable life with everything in it. Others may hold a life, that has just passed by. These are the people who have done nothing but just existing for their whole lives. Something needs to be done in order to be content with your life. Before actual dying, people start to think their whole life through. This is the time, when we forget the little things that once seemed awfully important, and start to think a little further. A question ''Did my life weigh enough?'' could be asked. It sure does not mean the measurements. It can be compared with an everyday life, where worth things cost more

Why was life better-worse in Estonia 50 years ago?

and people were living a poor life. People did not have the chance to own expensive technics(as a matter of fact some of them were not invented yet or it just had not been that widespread), wear the clothes they would have liked and live a life like they had always wished. Even if they tried hard to pursue to the highs, the chance of getting somewhere was close to zero. Nowadays, people can afford themselves a good and livable life, having the work done by machines, wear the clothes they want to and feel free to become more and more successful every day. Secondly, 50 years ago, people had very limited rights, which made them kind a shy and sour. Even getting a job was a complicated act, because there were not many workstations. And the other problem was that people did not have fair qualification. Nowadays there is open ways everywhere. Anyone can study and work on whatever job when they have enough will

The Globe Theatre

The New Globe was built with the same materials and building methods as the Shakespeare´s theatre. It is a round building, 3 storeys high, with a wooden frame and plaster walls. The middle of the theatre is open to the sky. The New Globe opened in 1997. It was named "Shakespeare's Globe and it is used from April to October for performances of plays both by Shakespeare and other playwrights of his time. The audience is possible to sit in a gallery just as the wealthier people would have done 400 years ago or stand as a groundling in the yard, just as poorer people would have done . Tickets for the new play cost £20. There are 700 £5 standing tickets for every performance. Standing offers the best view of the stage. On the upper, middle and lower gallery tickets cost from £12 to £33. In 2009 there was played: "Romeo and Juliet", "The Frontline", "As You Like It", "Troilus and Cressida", "Helen", "A New World", "Love's Labour's Lost", "The Comedy of Errors"

Protecting endangered species will make a difference in humans life

Protecting endangered species will make a difference in humans' life In the nature of humankind it is natural to hunt animals. However, nowadays hunting endangered species will make humans be just killers, because it is not necessary to kill something just to have a trophy on the wall at home. People can be proud of what they have done, but decreasing the population of a species largely will cause the specific animal breed to go extinct faster than it would happen via natural causes. Therefore, humans should stop hunting endangered species to slow down their extinction, as these species offer balance in the wildlife, are used without purpose in medicine, and may even reduce poverty. Species on the brink of extinction affect us more than we realize. Sure,
