Gross domestic product

Gross Domestic Product (GDP) The gross domestic product (GDP) or gross domestic income (GDI) is a measure of a country's overall economic output. It is the market value of all final goods and services made within the borders of a country in a year. It is often positively correlated with the standard of living, alternative measures to GDP for that purpose. · Gross domestic product comes under the heading of national accounts, which is a subject in macroeconomics. Gross National Product Gross national product (GNP), in economics, a quantitative measure of a nation's total economic activity, generally assessed yearly or quarterly. The GNP equals the gross domestic product plus income earned by domestic residents through foreign investments minus the income earned by foreign investors in the domestic market.

Essee "Teenager and pocket money"

Should teenagers nowadays earn their pocket money. Many children earn their pocket money by doing some jobs at home, but lots of them do not need to work for it. I think that it depends on the specific children whether his/her parents should pay him/her. My parents do not give me money for bringing firewood or mowing the lawn. They have never paid me for such jobs and I think I would feel rather bad if they did. I have understood that I need these domestic jobs done as much as everybody else in my family. My mother doesn't get paid for feeding me, so why should I be better than her. I know a family where one of the children gets paid for simple domestic jobs and the other does not. It seems unfair to me. On the other hand, I find that getting paid for chores could be rather good motivator for younger kids. In the world full of computers and TVs we are getting lazier day by day. Children nowadays may need this motivating

2009 SHIP DISPOSAL The Maritime Administration's management approach is to remove all vessels that present the highest risk to the environment as soon as possible, and to have disposal alternatives and the necessary funding in place to ensure that obsolete vessels can be disposed of at a rate greater than obsolete vessels coming into the Maritime Administration's fleets. Ship disposal methods There are 4 methods for ship disposal. 1. Domestic Recycling Through ship sales offers and direct fee-for-service solicitation. The program awards ship recycling contracts to seven domestic ship recyclers. 2. Artificial Reefing The Maritime Administration accepts applications from coastal States, U.S. Territories and possessions and foreign governments for use of obsolete NDRF vessels as offshore reefs for the conservation of marine life. The Maritime Administration may provide financial assistance for specific domestic reefing

Gay rights

· Adoption: 19 states allow gay and lesbian couples to adopt children in a complex and expensive twostep process, in which one parent first adopts and then the second can petition for joint rights. · Ceremonial Marriages: Same Sex Marriages may be officiated by church officials, or anyone else, but ceremonial marriages in and of themselves involve no civil laws and carry no legal benefits or responsibilities. · Domestic Partnership Registration: is a means by which some cities allow opposite and samesex couples to go on public record as a nonmarried couple. The major benefit is used to establish legal responsibility for debts after a relationship ends. · Domestic Partnership Affidavit: Many private employers and municipalities offer domestic partner benefits to their workers, based on signing a legal affidavit that defines an economic relationship.

BARRIERS TO DISTRICT HEATING DEVELOPMENT IN SOME EUROPEAN COUNTRIES

barriers IN WELL-developed Dh countries In many countries with well-developed district-heating industry, such as Sweden, much DH competence resides in municipally owned energy companies. They have system knowledge, which could be applicable in other countries. District-heating companies owned by Swedish municipalities must, for judicial reasons, limit their business abroad to sales of services, and to a very limited extent goods. For municipal district heating companies, domestic judicial restrictions are the first barriers to overcome before operations in other countries can commence. Only certain components for production and distribution of district heating are manufactured in a single country, which calls for international cooperation. The Swedish Government provides certain but limited support to promotion of district heating business abroad. For example, Swedish district heating consultants work abroad but it is seldom followed by goods export.

Novel of Manners

Its subject is the set of consensus on at least three elements: social conventions of a particular class in a particular time and place The novel of manners is dominated by women--as authors, as subjects, and often as intended audience For example, in Jane Austen's novels there is always "husband-hunting" by female characters. But although the focus of the novel of manners are domestic life, marrige, and social behavior Adherence to good manners in these texts is not only a reliable indicator of one's social standing, but is intended to serve as an indicator of good morals as well. Poverty in World

industrialized nations are often "developed". A lack of material wealth does not necessarily mean that one is deprived. A strong economy in a developed nation doesn't mean much when a significant percentage (even a majority) of the population is struggling to survive. Politics have led to dire conditions in many poorer nations. In many cases, international political interests have led to a diversion of available resources from domestic needs to western markets. This has resulted in a lack of basic access to food, water, health, education and other important social services. This is a major obstacle to equitable development. Poverty has also been described as the number one health problem for many poor nations as they do not have the resources to meet the growing needs. But poverty is not restricted just to developing countries. Industrialized nations are also seeing a sharp increase in poverty

Antique Garden Ornament

Antique Garden Ornament Nimi Abstract Americans began to ornament their gardens in the early eighteen century, with the establishment of the great plantations of the Virginia tidewater and the estates of eastern Pennsylvania. These colonial landowners built handsome walls and gates, installed superb statuary and fountains, and arranged comfortable seating to give their grounds dignity and distraction. At the same time, New Englanders, too, began to beatify their gardens with elegant fencing, benches, and sundials. The creation of these early furnished gardens marked the beginning of a remarkable but little-known story, the history of American garden ornament. The two hundred years between 1740 and 1940 witnessed the creation of many important American gardens. This book will discuss the origins and development of American taste in terms of the ornament tha...

Water creates energy

It is a renewable source of energy. Coal, Oil and Gas would be depleted sooner or later, but water shall remain ever to serve our and natures need. Water is an inexhaustible source of power. Thus, it is a reliable source of power. Hydro-electric stations have a long life. Most of the hydro-electric projects are constructed as multi-purpose projects. The other uses of hydro-electric projects, besides providing power and irrigation, are flood control, navigation, water supply for industrial and domestic uses, promotion of tourism, fishing etc. The generation of hydro-electricity does not create problems of pollution. Although dam construction involves huge capital investment, yet later on its maintenance cost is very less. Even in our country we have 1 hydro-electric station Narva hüdroelektrijaam. In conclusion we clearly see, that creating energy from water is a very productive, self- restoring and cheap energy creator. I think that my country should increase water creation

Technology in our daily lives

The everincreasing use of technology in our daily lives is not always a good thing Technology plays an increasingly important part in our daily lives.
