If you could visit three places..

If you could visit three places anywhere in the world, where would you go and what would you do there? If I could visit three places in the world, I think I'd choose civilized places in Europe, America and Australia rather than exotic locations. I've been to abroad and I like travelling. Firstly I would like to go to America. If I had to choose, I'd probably go to San Francisco. There are a lot of sights: Golden Gate Bridge, the Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park, Alcatraz, City Hall, Chinatown, Museum of Modern Art and AT&T Park, where I could watch the baseball match of San Francisco Giants.

What’s the use of everlasting life if we can’t maintain a youthful spirit? Better to die with a hopeful eye on the future than to have such a long empty difficult life though eternity.

„Nelson’s management style could have come from a modern textbook“

Summary of ,,Nelson's management style could have come from a modern textbook" By Stephen Howarth Many people think that it is almost impossible to use war leaders of the past as role models for the present. Although leaders and heroes are still needed. Nelson's character and training for the adventure of the Nile still makes him an figure example for everyone. Today even at the hardest boardroom battle almost no-one has to feel the level of responsibility that Nelson had in 1798.

Estonian climate in winter-time.

Estonian climate in winter-time. In Estonia, winter climate is very variable. Some year, it could be very cold outside, but some year it could be so warm you may wear your autumn clothes in winter. Some year it could snow so much, that you can't even get out of the house, because there's too much snow in front of your door and some year it may not snow for at least half of the winter-time. But no worries, mostly the temperature may go below -30 and because of the cold, students are absent from schools. The absent students mess up the whole classes program, because then it takes more time to study some subjects and teachers have a lot more work to do. I think, that when students skip

My ideal house

My ideal house I would like to live in a place where there are some mountains with snow on top of them and a sea nearby because i like beaches and mountains. My house would be in the middle of them, so i could see the sea from one side and the mountains from the other side of the house. The house would have two floors and a basement because that's all i need. On the first floor, there would be the living room with a big tv and some antique furniture, the kitchen, also with antique style oven and etc. A bathroom with a large bathtub and sauna, plus there would be a porch looking towards the sea. On the second floor, there would be at least four bedrooms where my family/children would sleep

Are student organizations beneficial for students?

Are student organizations beneficial for students? This essay will deal with the following aspects of the question „Are student organizations beneficial for students?“. It is noticeable that student organizations are quite popular subject right now. Topical issue is that there may be different opinion about how beneficial student organizations for students really are. Student organizations usefulness could be disputable, beacause there are always postive and negative side to everything. One the one hand it appears that some students might support and think that student organizations are really advantageous for them and others do not support that idea. For example many stundents might complain about that sudent organizations are full of politics and assuming that they do not consider it necessary and beneficial to join any of them. It

Stress

Stress Stress is a necessary part of nature. It´s the organism´s defence mechanism for changes in the surrounding enviorment. Without it we could not survive. Stress has many effects on the body that are necessary for a reaction to the stressor. When an animal senses danger, it automatically triggers a fight or flight response. In case of a lifethreatening situation, stress is an invaluable ally. It can even motivate us to prepeare for upcoming challenges. But as we move further and further from our natural habitat, stress becomes more of nuisance than a lifesaver.

Summary - IT in motorsport

Summary I made my presentation about infotechnology usage in motorsport. I chose this topic because I am an infotechnology student and also I have been rally driver since 2009. I believed this could be interesting topic for others to hear because you can’t really find much information about the technologies used in different motorsport disciplines from the Internet but you can learn about them usually when somebody tells you about those technologies. Because I’m a rally driver and I know most about rallying I focused on rally and in addition talked little bit about Formula One and also about simulators. Most of the information I used to make this presentation was based on my personal experience. In addition, I found some interesting technologies which are used in Formula One from the Internet. Most interesting hi-tech solutions used in rally are in my opinion ride height control with GPS and launch...

Sustainability aspects of biofuels

Food production will be the main concern as it is the most debated issue, but other aspects, such as land use change and water consumption will be also considered as they are essential aspects in the biofuels sustainability criteria. The review will discuss the viability of biofuels based on the current technologies. Second-generation biofuels are not yet commercially viable and therefore will not be discussed; although they could significantly improve the sustainability of biofuels when they break through to the industrial scale. 2. The scale of biofuels production 2.1. Drivers of biofuels production Lal (2010) stated that "three inter-connected challenges face humankind in the 21st century": food security, climate change, and energy security. The world population is projected to reach 9 billion in 2050, posing more demands on energy, food, and other natural resources. It has

friends. It is good that people can instant message with people all the time all over the world. It makes people feel like they are not alone. However the con to this is that social media causes people to spend less time interacting face to face. I think it’s not good because if they are always in social media talking with friends then people can’t interact with people outside the internet. If the people are not used to speaking in real life then it could be difficult to impress yourself with words to other people and because of this it could be difficult finding a job. Social networking sites help students do better at school. It helps students browse quickly the information they need and not waste time on searching from millions of books. It helps students do homework faster and then they can have free time to do hobbies. It could also provide distance learning due to sickness or travelling. But in the other hand it’s bad because

Conditionals

B. Unreal Conditionals Unreal Conditionals refer to situations that are untrue or imagined, have not happened or are only remotely likely to happen. The Second Conditional expresses a hypothetical condition and its probable result: If I had time, I would help you. (=but I don’t have time, so I cannot do it) In the if-clause we use the Past Simple, in the main clause would + the verb. We can also use the Past Continuous in the if-clause and could or might in the main clause: If Jim was playing his guitar, we could not enjoy the silence. Sometimes were is used instead of was, especially in the clause if I were you: If I were you, I wouldn’t eat so much. 1) Impossible conditions: If I were a bird, I could fly. If John was taller, he could become a policeman. 2) Possible in theory, but improbable in practice : If I were the President of Estonia, I would make a lot of changes.

Could you also suggest if I should get a touring bike or an adventurer bike? I am going with 2 friends and we are planning to take a lot of luggage, so could you tell me if the panniers are fit for a lot of luggage or not? Should space exploration be a priority

Space exploration should be a priority Since the beginning of time people have wondered about what's really hidden behind the clouds and what goes on there. Before people had the technology to study space, they tried to make sense of the universe with the help of religion. Luckily thanks to the great interest in the subject, the first manned spaceflight happened on April 12, 1961 by the Soviet Union, with cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin aboard. Travelling in space could become very important and useful for people on earth in case something happens to our planet. Many things could happen since humans are taking advantage of earth's natural resources like oil and building dangerous factories that produce toxic waste. With space travel we could find planets that have the material to replace our resources and maybe get rid of the toxic waste we no longer have room here. Besides that, a war could break out

A letter of inquiry Dear Mrs Maddox, I am writing to inquire about further information about your advertisement in the Daily Mail. I would appreciate it if you could tell me in which foreign countries I could be working and how old I should be if I want to apply for the job. Also, you mentioned that two evenings a week are free so you you possibly tell me which evenings you are talkind about. Could you please tell me, what you mean by suitable accommodation, a private room? The most important thing about the job you are offering is probably salary. You said that salary will be generous and you could offer some benefits. Could you please tell me if it is possible to get a car as a benefit? I am really looking forward to your reply. Dear ... I am writing to express my concern regarding the school meals served at The School House. That school food is healthy and tasty, could only be used in all schools canteens Estonia stockpiled, here are strictly controlled and processed foods. Start with the fact that Estonia grown food is stored, processed and routed school canteen supply chain for its intended purpose. This approach solves three important problems. The menu could be selective in how many different drinks. Since I myself can not drink milk, and in particular it could be a range of more buttermilk. Students could have a greater choice of food than what they want and what is not. Because some students can not eat everything and they should then suffer from hunger throughout the school day. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Yours faithfully .....

Respond naturally in 2-3 utterances but you are not expected to be lengthy at this stage. Speak fluently with appropriate pronunciation and intonation and only natural pauses. Express yourself confidently, clearly and politely. If you fail to understand the question, say `Pardon?' with the rising tone and the interviewer will interpret the question to make it clear for you. The following expressions of asking someone to repeat can also be useful: - Could you say that again, please? - Would you mind repeating that, please? - Could you repeat that, please? Once you have finished, you will be moved on to the next task. The interviewer will hand you a card with a task on it. You will read it to yourself. You will have 1 minute to think about it. You will be told when the time is up. Note-taking is not allowed at this stage. Role play is interaction! Interact naturally with appropriate openings, responses, fillers, amplifications: 1

BB10 1RQ Dear Mr/Ms Merton, I am writing in connection with your advertisement in yesterday's Post. It was about your company looking retailers for your products. At the moment our company is in search for new suppliers, therefore we might be interested in selling some of your products in our shops in France. As the advertisement was rather brief, we have some questions about the possible business arrangement. The main concern is about your price range. We would be very grateful when you could send us the price list. In addition, it would be nice, when you could add the list of products and their qualities. Our company has eight stores in France, so our orders could be quite big. Thus we would appreciate if you could advise us of your terms of payment and any discount available. The last thing we are interested in is your delivery policy. We need to be sure that you can deliver our order in two months time. We look forward to hearing from you soon. Alchemy English

For thousand of years scientists all over the world have sought for three main goals of alchemy. The most renowned goal of alchemy is the transmutation of any metal into gold or silver. Also they tried to create universal panacea. It's a remedy that would cure all diseases and prolong life indefinitely. The philosphper's stone was the key in these goals. This mythical substance could just as well be powder or liquid. Alchemy is considered as the precursor of the modern science of chemistry. The Philospher's stone is perhaps best known in Britain through the best-selling book and movie Harry Potter and the Philosopher's stone. But its origins go back thousands of years to ancient world. In those times a philospher was a secret wizard and a powerful sage. But what exaclty is a philospher's stone? To begin with its not actually a stone at all. It's not a

Complaint This February I planned a roundtrip flight for 4 travellers from Anchorage to Toronto from 4th of July till 13th of July 2014. After buying the tickets from the Internet (tickets.ua), I decided to pick seating for all of them. In February, I found a link through the airline webpage where I could easily pick seating for each of them. I sent my 14 year-old son on the trip with his grandfather and I wanted them sit next to each other because it was his first long flight. Furthermore, my son specially asked if he could have seat by the window. Under these conditions, we finally chose their seats and booked tickets. I received a conformation on my email after booking the tickets and everything seemed to be okay until May. My son noticed they

The Queen/Kuninganna essee filmist

Dissensions in Buckingham Palace The Queen movie was uninteresting at first, but when I delved into the movie it got very interesting. The Queen was about Queen Elizabeth II reaction to the death of Princess Diana. Film was based on actual events and included a lot of tragedy, emotions and sadness. Just as Tony Blair was moving into 10 Downing Street, Princess Diana died in a Paris car wreck. England went into traumatized mourning deeper than anyone could have predicted. On the contrary, the royal family -- Diana's estranged former inlaws -- offered no public reaction at all. As resentment toward the royal cold shoulder built into a monarchical crisis of public opinion, young Mr. Blair intervened with the Queen until finally the House of Windsor made a public demonstration of something like humanity. The film showed me the life of the royal family. There aren't very much positive things about

My house could be located close to the city. There would be a big garden with lots of beautiful flowers and trees. In the garden there could be a small pond with a water lilys. I want that my garden would be eccentric. My house could be a stone because it is resistant to everything. Also, there should be the chimney. My ideal school I've often wondered, what my ideal school would be like, but I haven't quite figured it out yet. I'm almost sure, that my ideal school would be near the forest. Students could go there and sit on benches to gather their energy. In the schoolyard, there would be big maple and oak trees and a lovely pond- what a nice place for a picnic on your break time! The lessons would take place in an old manor, where doors opening and closing by themselves wouldn't be anything unique. The classes would be small, but cosy and warm. We'd have a huge library with hundreds of old books. There would be a huge section only for romantic novels and books about love stories.

Why learn foreign languages

world. For that reason, it is extremely important for young people to improve their skills and to learn as much as they can of, this important language. To begin with, speaking foreign languages allows you to travel wherever you want without any problems. If you are visiting a place far away, it would probably be useful for you to know a little bit of English or some other languages. For example, if you get lost in a strange country you could ask somebody for information without any problems. Furthermore, having a good knowledge of different languages could help you to find jobs. These days, it is always more common to find businesses which are looking for a good English or some other languages speaker. In addition, it could be important for you to learn language if you are interested in studying abroad. For instance, a good knowledge of English is required to attend American colleges.

The first question that emerged when I read the title of the advertisement was is there any age limit that I need to fit in? It would be really nice of you, if you could tell me, where I need to publish my work and if it is acceptable if I send you my poetry. I would be really pleased, if you could answer my most important question. Do you have any official e-mail addresses, where I could send my manuscript and is there any dedline? I look forward to hearing from you. Yours sincerely, Tiit Tamm

My Dreams and Ambitions

My dreams and ambitions If I could visit any country in the world, then it would be Thailand. I'ts a wonderful country. My parents have been there for three times. I've always wanted to see Thailands wildlife and safari, also I'd like to go diving. That would be my first choice. My second choice would be go to China. If I could meet a famous person, I tink I'd like to meet Akon. He is an exellent singer, he has a mindblowing voice and his songs are beautiful. If someone would give me 500$, then I'd buy to have a television and DVD player in my room. If I could change my appearence, then I'd like to have bigger eyes. Mines are too small. My dream is to become a very good and famous photographer. I want to go to learn photography and I have done this already for 2 years.

Letter of advertisement

Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing with regard to your advertisement in the newspaper " Times " on 10th September. I would be grateful if you could send me further information about the cars you introduce in your company. I would appreciate if you could answer a few questions I have. I am interested in buying a car for traveling through the Europe. I would like to know how fast is this car and if it consumes petrol or any other fuel. I would also like to know more about the test drive. I am interested in buying it, so I would be grateful if I could test this car . I wonder how many people can this car carry. I am living alone, so it would be better if car would look smaller. I love small sport cars more, than family cars.

Technology and choice

It would be nice to choose a baby of your own, wouldn't it ? Firstly, It depens on a persons point of wiew. For some people it's definetly wrong and demonic. Others say it would be awesome and interesting , experience of life. secondly, technology isn't ready for that, we are already changing evolution by abortion. But mayby in the future we have a choice of what kind a baby we would like. You'll never know, perhaps they will make a menu and you can select a baby of your own taste. You could choose a girl with hot body and kind heart. In addition you could make her intelligence high, make her tall and give her hobbies. I think that it may be nice to choose hair color and eye color, and even gender. But choosing whether he/she will be smart, stupid or tall is just a bit wierd for me. We'ev been living this way for a very long time and now they think they're going to change the world and everything will be as it has been forever. I don't think so

Technology in our daily lives

More facts about individuals are being stored in data banks, which may be accessed through networks of computers. This creates an everincreasing risk of accidental or deliberate leaking of private details. Every day more information is collected by banks, credit card companies, consumer organisations and so on and who is there to keep an eye on what happens to it? It is certainly convenient to store information in this way, but I feel it could lead to longterm problems. There may be other hidden dangers theoretically, could a 'thinking' computer start to use the data against us? To sum up, I believe that we must be very careful with technology. While it has clear advantages, there is also the danger that it could turn on us and we could find ourselves the victims of our own success.

A book review

The story is about a teenage boy Holden Caulfield who dropped out of high-school because he failed every exam but English. Instead of going home and face his parents he decides to stay in hotel. For two days he wanders in New York and meets different people. Everything is described through Holden's perspective. Holden had quite complex character. He sometimes acts like a 13-year-old but in the same time he can be quite reasonable. Holden´s mood swings and trastic changes of feelings could even could mean that he had somekind of bipolar disorder. He could literally hate a person in one second and love in the next. He criticises others alot for being phony. Only persone he really seemed to be fond of was his little sister Phoebe. The book has a slightly depressing undertone because Holdens thougts about the situation he was in and his surroundings were often very gloomy. The lousy hotel where he stayed was probably the gloomiest part of the book.

Estonian War of Independence

Germany. On November 16 the Commander-in-Chief of the Red Army, Jukums Vacietis, gave orders to start a massive attack on a long front from the Gulf of Finland to the Ukraine. On November 28, two divisions of the Red Army (altogether 12,000 troops) crossed the Estonian border. The War of Independence had begun. The situation of the Estonian Republic was rather desperate. Organizing of the army had just begun and less than 2,000 men could be sent to the front (without a single cannon). However, the Government headed by Prime Minister Konstantin Päts decided not to give up without a fight. During the first month of war Estonian soldiers were forced to retreat and the Red Army was able to occupy North- and South-Eastern Estonia. The university town of Tartu soon fell to the Red Army and in the beginning of January 1919 the enemy was just 40 kilometers from Tallinn (the capital of Estonia).

A letter of application

Although I am not a professional veterinarian, I would like to volunteer. I am a 22-year-old postgraduate intern. I have completed a course in consulting and I have a certificate in first aid. Futhermore I have helped in several actions that were going on in the wild areas to protect the spieces from extincting. As a result I have some experience in drastic situations. I do not know if I have any of the specialised skills that you need, but I could certainly help to protect those animals, give them first aid or any relevant prospective help they might need. All in all I would be very happy if I could be somewhat helpful. I would be thankful for further details and I could provide references if these are needed. Looking forward to hearing from you, Yours faithfully, Katrin Kiisk

Letter Dear Sally, I have also been very busy with my exams recently, so I completely understand what you are going through. I would really like to see you again and it would be very great if you came to see me in August, but unfortunately I have a really important soccer match during that week and I can not miss that so maybe you could come the week before or after. Please let me know as soon as possible because my mum wants to know so she and my father will probably plan a trip to somewhere in order for us to be all alone in the house. My bike actually broke so unfortunately we can’t go cycling but my dad suggested that perhaps we go canoeing. It sounds very fun to me so maybe if you’re intrested we could go try that, but it’s totally OK if you don’t want to, just let me know.
